    Tribute to Yogi

Today one year ago, I lost my dearest friend to lymphoma. I miss him so much and I just wanted to mark this day for him.

      Tribute to Yogi

Prayers are with you and yogi today starts.

LORD, we know we have been lovingly
      CREATED in your image...
and given "DOMINION" over all other living creatures...
neither to conquer, nor to dominate, nor to exploit...
but to defend and sustain these noble "others"
with generosity, justice, and mercy worthy of our divine charge.
Father, bless us with the humility
to recognize and cherish their sacredness
and their manifold gifts to humanity...
inspire us to know you and to love you ever more
through our spiritual union with our animal companions
and every living thing on earth.
      Creator GOD, speak to us
through the wisdom of the Holy Scriptures,
and the Saints and the animals
with whom they communed in peace and understanding...
Make us One in your Kingdom of Love!
      Amen.
      To Infinity And Beyond!!

        Tribute to Yogi

Starts, Yogi is beautiful, and is waiting for you, I am sure.
I think I have posted this before, but here it is again.

        I STOOD BY YOUR BED

I stood by your bed last night,
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying,
You found it hard to sleep.

        I whined to you softly
As you brushed away a tear,
        "It's me, I haven't left you,
        I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times,
Your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today,
        Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels,
I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today,
You tend it with such care.
        I want to re-assure you,
        That I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house,
As you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you,
I smiled and said "It's me."

        You looked so very tired,
        And sank into a chair,
I tried so hard to let you know,
        That I was stand there.

        It's possible for me,
To be so near you every day.
To say to you with certainty,
        "I never went away."

        You sat there very quietly,
Then smiled, I think you knew?
In the stillness of that evening,
I was very close to you.

        The day is over?
I smile and watch you yawning,
        And say, "good-night, God Bless,
I'll see you in the morning."

An when the time is right for you,
        To cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you,
And we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you,
There is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out?
Then come home to be with me.

I'm looking at my dog lying next to me asleep on the bed, and crying buckets over those words. The love you get from a dog is unlike any human love and those words just sum that up beautifully.

Startsy, we have a prayer meeting on wed. and will copy his pic ( if you want) so we can say a group prayer for him and for everyone to see him. I am not at all sure that he hasn't already been at our group and wanting to play tug with a ball tied in a sock ???? I know that we had a dog named blue but there was another long haired Shepard type there as well.
