I started here as "imatree" - cuz I feel a kinship of sorts with trees. Then I needed to change my username because the man I was in a bad thing with was harassing me here. While drinking one night I decided that I needed to start living for me - thus, MyOwnWoman.

I put up this avatar around election day for obvious reasons. I'd change it but well, just lazy about that sort of thing.

Oh, and the "happy holidays" under my username - I can't figure out how to change it. I think only subscribers can edit that line, and I had that there when I was a subscriber, but I'm not any more so can't change it!

The reason i choose my names is this. About 4 years ago i was sat in the garden at night and i saw a shooting star so i made a wish that me and Cy would get together and be happy, what do ya know a week later we got together (after being friends for about a year or more) and a few weeks after that he told me he loved me. Through all our troubles we are still together and going strong. Soppy i know but i truly believe that star had something to do with it.

My avatar changes quite often. My current avatar is quite self explanitary, it's me Mrs Wishy Washy!!

No, I don't dance hula. And I guess I'm no longer a girl...more of a woman. But I did take a belly-dancing class last summer. Does that count? My daughter was in hula for 10 years so I guess I'm a HulaMom. I'm always just trying to do my little part for the local economy, which is based on tourism so come visit and I promise you'll see hula! My avatar is my dog. My signature is my outdoor environment.

My screen name is self explanatory.. I have been around a long while and go through phases of being seriously motivated and times when I am distracted by my life too much to even be here. Am surrounded by heavy drinkers and am the only person in my life who wants to STOP!! Have had some great successful AF time which I love but for some reason play chicken with fate and bump myself over again. Stress and other factors make it all harder. (Originally I was MFM or myfavouritemartian as I was such an astronaut and am glad to say I'm more grounded after doing time here with the MWO crowd.)
Hmmm... my avatar was the most relaxed kitty I could ever find anywhere.. which is how I love to be.. But felt the need to show more solidarity with some of my Aussie friends on these boards recently so picked the cutest wombat instead. Also.. I feel like a fickle wombat since my last slip or ten.

I just posted this yesterday under Long Term Moderators...This is such a cool thread! I chose mine when I was in a deep, depressed mood about myself. I forgot who I was. It sounds silly to me now but it helps me to remember what a long journey this has been! A very worthwhile journey.

My avatar...well, I was looking for a new one and this one made me laugh out loud so I picked it! Plus, I needed a haircut so I could relate. Now that I've cut my hair I might have to find a new one. I like change.

Screen Names already taken

A few of the names I was going to use were already being used by others.

Polaryzed popped into my head because it was really snowing that day and I hadn't seen this much snow in years. In addition, we always said we would move UpNorth, we now live 2 hours north of the city. The Y in Polaryzed just to be creative.

My original avatar was 'puppy mail' cuz it was so unique but then a fellow member jokingly set me straight (Thought for the Day thread). So while I was looking at alternative avatars, I found this beautiful creature. Kinda fits with my ID and makes me feel stronger, (Thnx. IAD 'ha').

I would love to put my beautiful Dayna's pic on here but I have no clue how.
