Here is how I do it-
Find a picture on the net you wish to post, right click on it, and select 'copy image location'.
Then when the window opens to write your post click on the small icon at the top which says 'insert image' and a window will come up. Right click there and select 'paste' then 'OK'. In the post you will just see a line of text- the image will not show until you submit your post.
If you want to post you own pictures, open a free account at photobucket.com.
Upload your pictures to photobucket by following the instructions given there then copy and paste the URL they will provide underneath your photo for forums- I think it is the third link they provide out of four.Comment

Last Call if you want to try it out try inserting my avatar image in a post if you want as it should be the last post in this thread and you should be able to still see the message box at the bottom of the thread where you need to insert it.
When you right click your mouse on my avatar it will bring up a list of options. You need to highlight the option that says. COPY IMAGE LOCATION and then left click your mouse. The box will disappear but don't worry you have got the URL you need stored. Now in your message box you will see a a small yellow square with what looks like a mountain and sun. When you put your arrow or cursor on that box it should inform you that this is for inserting an image. If you left click on this button it will bring up a box asking you to : PLEASE ENTER THE URL OF YOUR IMAGE. There should be some highlighted text: http://........................simply right click on that text and this will then give you some more options. Highlight the word PASTE. You will then see in that gap the URL address you copied earlier. Then simply press OK and you will see that URL appear in your post with image tags around it [img] a href=[/img]. If it hasn't got those tags around it then you've done something wrong. But if you want to check your post before you post it to see if it's worked then click the button next to Post Quick Reply.............which is Go Advanced and you should see the picture there before you post it. Do this for ANY picture on the net.
What I tend to do with Youtube videos is just right click where the web address is showing which will highlight it then left click on copy as I did with the pictures and again the box will dissappear. when you want to insert it in your post just right click in your post where you want to insert it and highlight paste and it will automatically insert the vid for you.

Greenie, I think you have to do that at the time you import the image into Photobucket. There is a set of options on the page where you choose the images to import. If you want to use the image on MWO, it should be the "small" or "medium sized." I could never figure out how to re-size the image AFTER I had imported it to Photobucket. I don't much like Photobucket, for various reasons, I wish we could use Flickr or Picasa.Comment

Greenie unfortunately you would have the save the image file to your computer and use an image editor within a program like Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop or some other program and re-size the image down or up. Whatever size the image is on the net you cannot alter or resize without a lot of messing about first.

Yes, if it is an image on the net, save it to your computer, first... then import it to Photobucket using the "small" or "medium-sized" image size option. Just click that option before you import it into Photobucket and it will work just fine.Comment
