Is it ever safe to have a drink?

Carol, If you decide to take that one drink and leads to more...the most important thing is to find your way back to sobriety as quickly as possible. This means if one drink leads to another and so on...the next day pick yourself up and get yourself sober.

I think as T said there is you answere.

I know that I don't ever want to have just one drink. I know I want to have many drinks.

        Carol,

I went 6 weeks without a drink following rehab. It was a nice Sunday relaxing day in the tub to prove I could do it. I didn't too much that day, but 2 days later it hit me like a brick and I drank myself stupid for 3 days, more than I did leading up to rehab.

I would hold off for awhile, study hard if you think Mod is your way. Be really prepared, studied and sure. Go to SMART Recovery some good resources.

But IMHO, I'd wait... What's another week or so.

I have wondered that about myself. I may always wonder. I don't think it's worth the risk to find out. I've seen / heard enough people here put their hand on the stove and find out it's still hot.
