I enjoyed my 2 days away from hubby. It was a great Symposium and a break from routine!! Hubby is so dependent upon me that he doesn't eat while I'm away. I totally do NOT need to be needed in that way....I think he acts juvenille but maybe he is just lazy. He's going to have to learn how to take care of himself because I am going to stop doing everything for him. I am getting too resentful about it. I'm going to tell him what's going on and that it is all about co-dependence so he is aware of why his life will be changing. No surprises for anyone on what will be going on in our house for a while. I think he and I will both benefit from this new way of having a relationship that is not built upon neediness from either side. We'll see. Krigs
Good luck with that Krig, changing another habit is hard work, thatll be just as hard as any other.

I lost a few pounds when I quit drinking but those have come back- maybe 5 down and 5 up. I just can't afford any up.....I needed to go down, down down after the drinking stopped. I'm not going to get myself too caught up in worrying about my weight. Being off cigarettes is far better than almost anything!!! I'll worry about the other in 6 months or so.

We have SOOOO many things to change when we stop drinking; it totally amazes me really. My next problem after that is my "avoidance" issue. Unfortunately both hubby and I have that one down to a science and the pattern needs to be broken, big time. Once we crack that nut then on to.......who knows what-we'll find something.

Hubby and I avoid anything unpleasant- I mean anything!! Small problems turn into huge ones when you practice avoidance. Usually there is one person in a partnership that keeps the problems from turning ugly but hubby and I support each other on that and we have made some serious mistakes. I am having a really difficult time with that personality problem change. I need professional help, probably.....or I should at least read some self-help books on the subject. (to get some tools or strategies to break that cycle). Krigs
