You too Zen. Am just a bit worried about potential side effects (except the weith loss of course I could do withthat bit!) but I really realized last night just how strong that 5pm craving really is! I lasted till 6.15... couldn't deal with it anymore! Had been doing okay the last few days but last night got the better of me. Today will be better.

Pan, I know I'm supposed to talk myself OUT of drinking - but my brain puts forward a pretty convincing argument as to why I SHOULD have a drink you know?? That's what happened last night.
Eskimo *wave* sorry you're feeling like crap too. I haven't tried any of the meds...just supps, cds, diet & exercise. I'm giving it another go like this before I consider the meds...I need to work on my head space more than the physical cravings (although maybe I'm kidding myself there..but I don't think so). I've been doing some research on the Sinclair method also...it's very appealing as it claims to make you just an average drinker. What I've always wanted to be! Right now I'm going for 30days AF again...I think/hope it gets easier with time.

Yes, Angel, I do know. Been there. Still am on occasions.
I've been reading about the Sinclair method as well. But they keep saying if you can go AF, don't start drinking just so you can moderate. I'm having trouble getting my head around that... It sounds pretty good to me...Feb 04 2009 80 days AF.

Lots' of good advice in here today! And Zen that is spot on! Trying something has to be better than doing nothing! Time to make a doctors appointment for me! What's the sinclair method? I might have to read up on that one.
Hugs to all!

I thought about doing that Angel but it's a bloody expensive way to do it! All the prices are in US dollars and you have to pay international postage rates as well... mind you... I guess we spend plenty on alcohol huh?

Eskimo, I know...and then every time you need it shipped out it'll cost again...but my dr is an old biddie...spoke to her about getting a script for topa once, she couldn't get me out the door fast enough. There's just not a lot on info. down here...and drinking is a huge problem in NZ...they looove to drink. You're weird if you're AF...
Gotta go, back in a min.

Eski, you can get a script for Topamax from your doctor. He/she may take some convincing, but just tell them you suffer from migraines and have been told it will help. (It's true.) I took Topa many years ago and was honest about why I wanted it and I was given a script. It didn't agree with me tho.
Topa is not on the PBS list tho, so it is expensive. No postage tho.Feb 04 2009 80 days AF.
