I have to give a talk tonight at church on St Patrick...YICKS

I want to make some comfort food in the crock pot. Anybody have any ideas? Cy? Vegetarianish if possible.

slow cooker. It's a removable ceramic crock in an electric holder. cooks stuff on low all day unattended. Maybe I'll do spaghetti sauce.

I am doing corned beef separate from my veggies. I have the beef in a slow oven 275 or so.
I already have a Rutabaga (Swede) carrots, potato's, celery, onions cooking in canned chopped tomato's in the crock pot...Later I will and the cabbage.
Then put them all together about 1 hr. before we eat...Add horseradish and sour cream sauce and it's din din time..
The house already smells great.
I forgot to say i thicken the sauce with ginger snaps.

rutabaga is a Swedish root like turnip/parsnip tasting veg that stores for months and months...keep us swedes fed during the long winters. Publix and most chain stores carry them waxed or frozen...they are tough to cut but i never eat potato's with adding some...try it next time you make a mashed potato and the flavor is so much better and healthier too. The ginger snaps make a out of this world sauce.
