It has happened to most of us...it seems like there are potholes in the road to sobriety and we can't see them until we are already in them..anyway that's the way it was for me......NOW >>>>>
Reach out your hand and grab hold of mine....There you go...back up on the wagon...a little bit of dust but nothing that we can't brush off easily....eyes straight ahead on the prize !!! A HAPPY SOBER FUTURE !!! That's what I see for you !!!

Just now saw your thread IAD. Alcohol = Cunning, Baffling, Powerful. Glad you are back on the wagon right away. All we can do is keep learning from our decisions and moving forward.

IAD... SIX months is is is is is (am I stammering?) Fantastic!

Don't know what the bump in road is about (did you just drink 1 or 2 or get blitzed?)...

And may I ask why? (If not too personal!) The reason you decided to drink may help others...

As I've been reading & understanding more about my own "falls from grace".. I really am seeing that it IS a Demon!

Maybe we just need a good excorcist?!! (Perhaps not a joke!)

I look at it this way - much better than all those AA meetings I used to go to where people would say they were one year sober when I could smell Bourbon on their breath.

Savon....the truth of the matter, I've been retired from the Govt. for a year now. ( 55 years old ) I've got too much time on my hands.....too much time to think. I put in for a job with the Govt. ( part time) I need to go back to work !! I really feel like I'm worth nothing. I use to be a Facilities Manager......ran the problems of a major Facility.....It was a fast pace time.....know I'm doing nothing....It's hard. LOL IAD.

I am just going to say "ditto" to what all the others said and then add... have you thought about vounteering somewhere? Keep your mind busy yeah? It doesn't have to be paid work if you're retired. Heaps of things you could do and you sound like you have a great deal of skills to offer. Have a look around - I bet you'll find something!

My Mum used to take her dog down to the nurising home to cheer up the elderly.... I know you'll find a place somewhere. And in the mean time - you are doing an awsome job here! As a newbie I have really enjoyed reading your posts. Maybe you could write a book! Just a thoguht.

And I agree it's not a fall from grace... just a pothole and a bump is all.

I broke all my rules lest week on vacation. I actually blacked out. I still can't get over this one and my liver is hurting right now.
