The next day thread Tuesday 24 March

      Morning all,
Well, what a beautiful sunrise we had at 35 degrees south!
Gardening: I've been out with a chain saw yesterday and this morning. My friend Pete is loading up the trailer as I type. It has opened up areas to a bit of sunlight, and I've discovered little native gardenias, Illawarra flame trees and sandpaper figs! All tiny little seedlings that were stifled by the large (and inapproriate) bushes. But it shows the rest of my garden has good viable plants. I must take some photos so I can have before during and after shots. Now only a ton of lantana, heaps of braod leaved privet and metres of Tacoma to get rid of and I can start on gardening again.
No time for the beach this week, but I am looking out over the Tasman as I type. Gee, are we in a lucky country or wot!!

          Morning all!

Rags - I'm laughing because I have a standard Lantana in a pot which I feed! It attracts butterflies, which although they freak me out, I love to watch and photograph.

Lazy start as its school holidays. Nice.

Oooo, we covet our Lantana, it must be different. SB, I remembered the name, from Desperate Housewives, it's Edie! I'm trying to stay awake tonight since I didn't sleep last night. I've always dreamed of visiting Australia. Hubs could have in his job, but don't know if I could have come, so HE wouldn't have wanted to come alone. I KNOW it's a beautiful place. And New ZZealand, too!

Another beautiful day here with some rain hopefully. Had to pull out about 12 capsicum plants due to aphids. Little buggers. Don't know where the ladybirds have gone this year. Hard to type as one dog likes to sleep on my knee with his head draped over my "mouse" arm! I'll indulge him though, as he's back to vet specialist again which he doesn't like!

I swear my veggies sprung up over the weekend while I was away!!
Today I'll harvest the first bok choy for tonights stir fry...wow!! It's been so easy...and I'm plucking food from my garden for dinner...I've always wanted to do that...I'm stoked.

SB, this reminds me of the 4pm storm in Summer in Sinney...loved those storms...usually only last about 1/2hr.

The next day thread Tuesday 24 March

Well, the only gardening I seem to be doing is picking up palm fronds that have shed, picking weeds out of paving and rocks, and mowing the lawn. I swear, once I finish at one end of the yard, I have to start all over again at the other.
