Hiya Zenny, for a lot who havent been posting much, we have done pretty well today huh?

I often wonder why I started....now mostly I dont bother to think about it...I just try and get through it...after all, knowing why isnt necessarily going to help...
In a nutshell, I guess I find it hard to face things and I dont like feeling sad and since my world used to be a sad and scary place, I suppose I just got used to dealing with things that way....

Well, then maybe its good for you to do some self analysis...just dont get too tied with "why" if you cant figure it out...
What about writing down all the reasons you want to clean up? In all their graphic detail?

Its GREAT to ramble....here is the first time I did it and it sure does help...
Yes, I too went to counselling, didnt discuss my drinking but realised that my early life would easily have contributed to long lasting fear and unhappiness...it helped me to accept myself and not be so hard on myself...

I think also, we get used to dealing with stuff a certain way, and that is to numb...now we have to learn a new way of living and dealing with stuff, it can be a bit scary too...

Well, then it sounds like counselling would be a good way of doing that...
I cant remember, are you a fan of AA? One of the steps talks about exactly that...maybe that would help you?

I totally agree with you, but dont make that your make or break goal....
