    legality of riverpharmacy in U.S.

I'm new, so I posted on the "new persons" thread, but they may be so new they can't answer my questions, so here goes: For those in the U.S., is ordering from the River Pharmacy legal if you order an item that is not a controlled substance (from my understanding, they do not sell controlled substances) but yet cannot be had in the U.S. without a prescription.

I'm interested in ordering baclofen for alcohol withdrawal. Recent studies suggest it may be as good as diazepam, the so called "gold standard" for withdrawal.

Please help with response. I need help as quickly as possible, but yet discreetly.

As far as I know, if a prescription is required, all purchases from any source, without a prescription, are illegal here in the US. That's what a "prescription" is; a requirement to use a licensed pharmacy.

The previous administration promised to go after every granny or terminally ill person who ever spent $5 at a Canadian pharmacy. Now that the administration has changed, and also with the financial crisis, it's not clear how much taxpayer dollars will be going to stop this level of "illegal" activity. Unfortunately, there's no telling in the future whether enforcement will be stepped up retroactively.

I just got a package from them and it said a US sanctioned company ??? I think they are wonderful and have had nothing but great service from them and they always answer my questions promptly and throughly. If it hadn't been for them i don't know how I could have gotten the meds that I needed ?? My Doctors won't give them to me and in my case i may have died without them...God Bless RIVER !!!

          Thanks and a question?

Thanks for your responses about River Pharmacy. I guess this leads to another question.
Has any U.S. resident on this forum ever been arrested or cited for ordering from this pharmacy? If so, I'm ready to cancel my order! Please respond!

I don't think you can be arrested for ordering from river. There are millions of on line drug companies that sell CONTROLLED substances and even then if they caught it at immigration they just confiscate it and send you a notice. I do counseling and have had several clients who were addicted to opiates and bought them on line and this is the worst that has ever happened to them about on line pharmacies ...and unfortunately the company keeps resenting it to them until it gets thru. I wish they would be stricter but this is the story I hear OVER and OVER again...They do NOTHING !!!

                Britt and Evie:
Thanks for your input. Yeah, it looks like there are so many online pharmacies out there filling orders, that there is no way anyone, let alone government officials, can keep up with the sheer volume of orders. And River Pharmacy states emphatically that they do not sell controlled substances that people can get addicted to. So, I feel better about that, because we're all trying to get or stay unaddicted, right?

This forum is great! I can finally get answers that I can't ask in person. I'll be asking a lot of questions I'm sure.

                Thanks a million!:thanks:

The governor of wisconsin has basically taken the stance of turning his head at anyone who wants to order any type of medication from canada and has expressed openly the need to allow it. Mostly for the retired on fixed incomes who are not taking the medications they need because the prices are so high here in the usa.

I think the issue is if you order LARGE LARGE LARGE amounts but not a reasonable supply. I have ordered 3x I think and not had an issue. Well, I have had issues but not legal ones!

I've ordered from Aclepsa in the past but they only sell 25mg tablets now and I wasn't satisfied with the quality of my last order...just submitted an order from RiverPharmacy last night...Not sure if it went through or not...I DID get an order confirmation page with an order number...tried to email that page to myself but the order number didn't go though...did not copy the order number so I don't have it....the page said I'd recevie a confirmation email which I have yet to receive BUT...I remember that with Aclepsa it usually took about a day for my order to be processed and for me to receive an email so I'll wait....I'll post and let everyone know about my experience with River...from what I've read in these postings it seems most folks have had good luck with them.

Saw a documentry on how elderly people in California were catching a bus into Mexico to get their Rx drugs.......( Old fellow they interview said.....it's the only way I can eat and have my meds. Too. ) Crying shame......we give all these Pharmacidcal Co. all these grants to find new drugs and in return, they rip us off when they find a pill that will cure our ills ! Ha! IAD.
