    Looking for weight loss BUDDIES !!!

    I am some what baffled at the LBS. that are creeping back up on me. I lost weight quickly after giving up AL and was looking like my old self again. My skinny jeans were fitting and all my clothes seemed to fit better. I am starting to wear my summer clothes now and I don't like what I am seeing.The scale is headed in the wrong direction and I want to know if anyone else would like to get and give support for weight loss. I have been MEGA stressed lately and even though I am eating healthier ...I am snacking more than I should (it seems to calm me down). Stress was always a trigger for alcohol and I am afraid that I have replaced AL with snacks.
    I would love to share tips and ideas on how to deal with sugar cravings and stress eating. What are your favorite low calorie munchies ??? What exercise is best to tone the belly muscles (so expanded in the past by the alcohol). My Beer belly hasn't completely gone away ?? Maybe part of it is normal post menopausal body changes but i am sure I can look better than this, and I am willing to work at it.
    I think a realistic goal would be 1 1/2 LBS. per week. That would be 6 LBS. a month and I have 2 months before I am going back to my hometown (I want to feel more comfortable with my looks by then ) and could sure use some help.
    Anyone want to join me ???

    Have you had your thyroid levels checked? If you are hypo, like me, not being treated will make you retain pounds.
    Also, one thing that worked for me was being hypnotized. Are there any particular foods that you are weak for? You can be hypnotized to find that food repulsive. Just a thought...
    and are you riding that bike?

      Thanks Lila, It was about 6 months ago that I had blood work and it didn't show any thyroid problems...It's more that I am eating MINDLESSLY I think. Carbos are my weakness...pastries are the worse but breads of all kinds...and late at night...I KNOW IT'S A NO NO to eat late but can't seem to stop it.
      I don't weight train...but that's a good idea. I did when I was younger and I liked the definition it gave my arms. My legs look great from the bike riding...I could do leg modeling...now if I can only get the rest of me to match them....LOL

        I'll join you, Evie. My weight was almost perfect til my accident and a year of immobility. Now I'd like to lose 30lbs, docs say no more than 20, but mostly I need to get my muscle tone and strength back, which is tricky with the MS and other ailments. But we can at least support each other! We'll get serious when I get back, OK?

            I will join you too. I really need to shed 10 pounds.... and tighten up my mid section. I look great in my winter wear, but seeing I put on a tank top on the weekend my muffin top is visible. Me, NO LIKEY!

            I need someone to motivate me to get out and exercise. There are no more excuses left for me. It isn't cold out anymore. I eat really well and very low carbs & sugar. I am thinking I need to burn it off.

            So my goal is 10 pounds by the end of May. I think that is realistic and obtainable.

              Oh Evie! There you go, reading my mind again. Yes!!!! Diet buddies, that's what I need. Intersting that I talked to my Dad's wife about this just last week end. She made an interesting comment to me when I complained about the 20 lbs. that I have gained. She said, "Well, you're eating food now, rather than consuming alcohol." Dahhhh! I hadn't really thought about the fact that I would forgo food, for Vodka, when I drank. I drank my Vodka in ice water - soooo- not much there. Anyway, I would like to shed 20 lbs. I did start 2 weeks ago and have only lost about 3# so far. I'm in... Hugs!

                I use to drink my vodka with water as well.... the thought makes me want to dry heave now! Good Lord.

                    OK that's a good beginning...
                    I am gonna start right now by making small steps toward my goal...no one likes a FAT SWEDISH PRINCESS so please stay with me on this one guys.
                    I am cutting up some veggies (carrots, radishes and celery ) is what I have today...These will be my SNACKS for later on...any ideas on a low calorie easy dip to make them more tasty ???

                      Me Too, Me Too!!! I can't shed pounds and it pisses me off. I hate exercise but if I make a comittment I keep it. And I too wanna low cal veggie dip.

                        I make a low calorie dip with organic plain yogurt, fresh dill, a squeeze of lemon and two cloves of garlic. It is really great!

                            Evie, don't forget some lean protien - AM and noon especially. HB egg, broiled or grilled chix breast, white tuna, salmon, etc. Just a small portion. That's what trips me up... Portion control - Yuck!

                              That Dill Dip sounds like a good idea. All I have in the fridge is fruit yogurts for the guests brekkies so I will have to add that to my shopping list.
                              I have dill coming up in my window box..I just took dill seed from the pantry and sprinkled it on the top of the soil...less than a week ago and here it comes already !!!
                              Hubby just said that he is in with us...He says that i made him fat from insisting that he finish what I didn't eat when I was drinking...I think it has more to do with the ice cream and candy bars that he can't seem to live without. He still looks like Robert Redfield to me.

                              BESTY, Thanks for the ideas...I am very allergic to fish (my eyes swell shut if I even smell it)....but shellfish is NO PROBLEM and has the health benefits too, so shrimp for did din tonight...I have some in the freezer.
