FDA approvals for generic topiramate

From March 30-Apr. 2 2009 a lengthy list of pharmaceutical companies were given approval to manufacture generic brands!! Is this new? I saw RJs blog about the possibility way back in 2006. I know that when I search prices, they have come down a lot.

Hope this is news to some.
