Oh Chrysa, we are all here to help each other. I believe in shared fate, and what you bring to this thread is meant to be meaningful and helpful to me.
In a moment of weakness, I'll tell you my 12 year son, was persecuted at his school for being Jewish. The classmates carved Swastikas on his desk, tortmented him with anti semetic statements, called him a "Dirty Jew", the history teacher told the class, the "Jews killed Christ" etc. My son wanted to disappear into the woodwork.
So that's why I said,"' it's hard to be a Jew", and I didn't mean to offend you or others out there who have their own issues to deal with, worst than mine.
Your post has warmed my heart, and boy do I say things, I regret when I am drinking. Yikes, we are all here for each other. I wish I could reach out there into cyper world and hug you. Let's keep in touch hon, and praise the Lord, we are all here for each other. This site has saved my life.

It is so hard for me to accept that this kind of bigotry is still in existence. My heart goes out to your son.

I am so glad you replied!!

I know we have a connection. Religious or not!! However, now I am of course curious about your previous almost hubby...and I do think it is interesting about my relaive success on topa (although lately I havent been as successful as at the start). So I don't know if there is a genetic difference with alcohol being jewish, although clearly I am an alcoholic. Anyway, we will have to talk about all this stuff, from your perspective, as a non-jew, and mine, as a Jew, by birth, but one not brought up particularly within a religious household, in terms of alcohol and its effects, as well as other stuff.
