What does a seizure feel like?

I was wondering if anyone here has experienced a seizure could describe how it feels. I have heard that seizures can be very painful and that people often have no memory of a seizure.

I'm not sure what it was that happened while I was in bed for the past two nights. I "woke" (I use that term loosely here) with my head kinda jerking to the side and I wasn't able to control my body or sit up. My back and neck both ache now. I just started Zoloft a week ago; I don't know if that matters or is related.

Hmmmm.... that sounds very scary! It could have been a seizure. Maybe you are allergic to the Zoloft?

I would definitely check in with a doctor. If you feel something wrong again - go to the ER!

      Thanks.
I finally found this about partial seizures and it does fit.
Also, a description of partial psychic seizures fits something that happened a number of times during my adolesence, which was interesting.

I'm going to call the doc tomorrow.

Definitely keep an eye on it tonight until you can talk to your doctor. Are you alone?

No, I got a husband here. I sleep between my two kids though and I'm a little scared that I'd hurt them if I had a "real" seizure. That was the first thing that went through my mind both times when it happened. I'm going to see if I can rearrange them so I'm between my husband and the older boy just in case.

OK, good you are not alone.

If it does get worse, please go to the ER. You don't want to mess with seizures. Keep us posted on how you are doing. xoxo

Alcohol withdrawal can cause seizures. I think you should get immediate medical advice. I don't want to worry you unnecessarily but this could be serious - better safe than sorry. You are a mum and you need to take care of yourself for the sake of your kids. Don't delay!
If alcohol made you happy I should be the happiest person alive! I'm not.

It's like the Rocking neumonia and the Boogy, Woggy Flu.......No really it's not a great feeling. You sort of pass out, before that everything gets hazy and the room might start spinning. (I had this when I got a bout of Bells Paulsy with Vertigo.I was in bed for a week on motion sickness meds....bad ear infection too. ) IAD

Thanks again everyone. Nothing happened last night. Someone else pointed out to me that it might be sleep paralysis, which I do have a history of.

                      :thanks:

I dont mean to stress or upset you but I still believe that you need to get this checked out
urgently. It may have nothing to do with drink or the drug that u are on, the reality is that there are many serious reasons why a person would get a seizure, and just because it doesnt happen two nights in a row is no indication that it wont return, at least talk to your doc.
