I agree. In an ideal world we would get every assistance we need. But that's just not the way it works.
You do raise a very valid point, and one of the most sensible ones here.
Like you, and many others, I have paid in too, without taking out.
The question is, will 'those funds ' be availalable should, heaven forbid, you need them??
At rate we are going, NO.
And you can bet, no one will come to our assistance, because they never do.

Lord yes, my husband has worked for 40 years paying in and has never taken anything back. (Never had to thank God). I am certain there are millions who have done the same.

Makes me sick to hear the government couffers are full of money but there are people on the street.

i beleive in this country canada our assistance is second to none,a freind of mine wrote that immiigrants coming in can receive more then old age pensioners get or can even claim,they even get A SIGHNING BONUS, if i can find it i will print it, for ya,maybe the system is just messed up,and should be fixed,but why would politicans want to fix it,when it mt take out of there pockets ? hahahaha, I BELEIVE STEP WAS BEING TRUTHFUL,THE SYSTEM IS F... UP,but i also beleive its not nice to kik a person when there down,sean i dont pray as much as i should but i will put a good word in for ya, gyco

Have you been paying taxes in the US Sean?
The U.S. and a lot of other countries have a system of mutual recognition of taxes. So if he has paying here it's virtually the same as if he had paid in his own country, due to the mutual recognition. If you pay tax your whole life in the UK, you are entitled to benefits in the US (if that's your home country) and other countries, vice versa. That's what I have read.

It never WAS just about Sean.
It's about Britain having the best benefit system in the world. Unfortunately, that means we are over run with people who are here, for that reason only.
People who have never paid anything in, yet get given everything, on the back of those who have paid in.

Sadly, for those who do have a right to help, i.e British citizens, i.e Sean, the outlook is regrettably bleak.

My partner recently got made redundant due to the dire situation this country is in, and there was no help available, other than job seekers allowance of approx ?75 a week. How does that keep a roof over your head?
And we have only stepped outside of Great Britain once in our lives,for a 2 week holiday!

What I am saying is, the funds are drying up. There will be nothing for any of us.

I really do wish Sean well, but despite everyone's positivity, the harsh reality is, it's not going to be easy.

Oh, and p.s. Thanks for everyones pm's and emails, who felt they couldn't post their comments here, for fear of a back lash.

It will all be OK because while there may not be government help available to those in Sean's situation, there are many foundations started by kind-hearted individuals with a vision for the exact purpose of helping people who like Sean cannot get help from other channels.

He just needs a little bit of help at the moment until he can get sorted out with one of these organisations.
