The Next Day Thread, Saturday 02 May 09

    Morning all :-)

This is the beginning of day 3 AF, with a little help from Diazepam (Valium), which I'll be tapering off over the next few days to zero.

I was drinking at least one and usually closer to 2 bottles of red every night for the last month or so!

Just have to say how great (not sick, anxious and depressed) I feel this morning..

I'm off to Bunnings to get some plants and sort out my Winter Veggie garden, instead of feeling guilty and hiding from the World..

    I love being sober :-)

Hope all have a great Weekend and stay off the Booze!

    Cheers..

      morning all.

Hockey starts earlier than I thought so I have to get moving.

Glad to see you here Dave.

Angel, I am just going to post on my thread when I am feeling vulnerable. Like you I don't want to badger anyone. Usually posting how I feel helps me deal with the urges plus some encouraging comments from others get me over the hump.

      Wishing everyone a great day.

Welcome waving...love your name, wasn't that a band back in the 80's??
Great on the veggies...I got a veggie patch started about 8 weeks ago so I've been harvesting all the leafy things but the broccoli, cauli, brussel sprouts, leeks & carrots will be ready pretty soon after I've moved back to Oz in 3 weeks!!! Whoever moves into this house will have a ready made veggie garden, ready to harvest...pretty special!! It's going off and feels soo great to pick your food from the garden...it's organic also.
Ezz - I thought about starting my own thread for thoughts & stuff - Mooderators doing it and it seems to be helping her...but I started a journal detailing what I've eaten that day & how I'm feeling & it's pretty clear to see that the days I don't write are the days I drink...so from now on it's a priority to put 10 mins aside for that.
We're off to a barbie this arvo but shouldn't be too much trouble staying AF...my friend who's hosting is about to have a baby any minute...so she'll be AF & her hubby won't drink much in case he has to take her to the hospital. I'll take some San Pellegrino to drink.

        xo

            Hi Waving!

Afternoon all - gorgeous autumn arvo up here in Central Vic. I'm assembling a new glass/greenhouse and just added up the parts on the list - 598 of the buggers. I've assembled all four sides; hopefully I'll get to join them together tomorrow. The roof ... well, let's just say, I hope to get that up before all danger of frost is over. The whole exercise is a delicious brain strain. Translating the instructions (written in Chinglish) has been a hoot.

Chinglish? Yeah know what you are saying Tawny.

Cloudy day here and none too warm either. Can all you southerners stop sending your weather up to foul up ours please.

My new neighbour is having a lovely time at the moment. I'm not having much fun watching. He is cutting out the lovely privacy barrier I have. I've tried to talk him out of it, but he is so insistent that the leaves will clog his gutters that he's not having a bar of it. All he has to do is keep the bushes pruned, for goodness sake.

Also, in his questionable wisdom, has removed plumbing to take the water away from my property. His property has major drainage issues. I'm not happy at all. His property has had termite probs in the past and I haven't. Moisture is a big hazard. Silly old coot.

                  afternoon all.

I seem to be suffering from my daughter's bug. I am feeling extremely fatigued. My daughter has taken some medicine, which has perked her up enough to play hockey this morning. Think I might go lie down for a while and let the kids watch a dvd and eat ice-cream.

Pan, my neighbour is the same, removing everything that is living. Replacing it with nothing. We had our green waste collection, which was supposed to be collected 2 weeks ago. It wasn't and the extra 2 weeks have given him extra time to remove as much as he can. I was so relieved when they showed up this morning to take the waste away I wasn't even bothered that they showed up with their mulching machine at 7.00 am on a saturday.

Ez it isn't just the problem of removing the bushes which were all along my fence. Part of my house sits on his border, so while I am very vigilant about termite hazards, it seems he is not. Having alzheimers may not help, but how do I make them understand without seeming like an interferring neighbour?

I sympathise with you Ez, I know this problem has been going on with you and your neighbour. Removing a mature Pepper tree for goodness sake? Seriously, these people are idiots or something.

Then, on the other side of me I have wonderful neighbours who look after me even when I don't want them to. Can't complain. They are actually GROWING stuff. It's just taking a while to grow, even in this subtropical climate.

And then I have the neighbour at the back who is a cantakerous old bastard who prunes my palms and throws them back over the fence. I don't think you're supposed to prune palms. They are self cleaning.
