I watch Intervention; always makes me cry. My poor daughter, what I have put her through.

Strange as it sounds, I used to watch intervention alot when I was coming up to a binge, cause it made me feel "I wasn't that bad" Then I'd go off on one. Just another excuse from my alkie mind!

                        army thread may 2nd 2009

                        Morning Folks!
Seacailin: I'm sorry you had a rough time and I'm glad you're back.
I'm feeling OK today. A lot better for being sober, but I've things weighing on my mind that I can't do anything about. I'm not worried about me. I'm getting by alright and I have plenty to smile about but sometimes I've got to take a deep breath and look inside and wonder where it's all going....
Still, enough melancholia for now. My son's coming through for a visit tomorrow. Hopefully that will be good. My dad called last night to let me know he went for a good long distance walk with my brother and is feeling tip-top after his recent cancer scare. I'm going to go to the bookies and bet a whole ?1 on a football coupon. I get scared if I bet any more than that.
Anyway, wishing eveyone at MWO a peaceful and happy weekend.

                          Hi Pan
Starts that is the only show that I know of about alkies. Yes, I think it helps. As I get back to meetings and meet new people, I will get as many women's phone numbers as I can, and learn how to pick up the phone BEFORE the drink and ask for help. Asking for help has been one of my biggest obstacles.

Hey Pops, good to see you!
I get like that too sometimes, kind of overwhelmed with just dealing with me and my emotions...it can be scary and I think its because we are more used to burying rather than dealing...
Things seem to be good with your family so that is a blessing and GOOD LUCK at the bookies!!!

Have a look at the Rain in My Heart documentary on you tube...that usually does it for me....or there is one about a successful reporter who ends up living on the streets. I forget the name just now, but oney knows it.
Asking for help isnt one of my strong points either...
