    The Next Day Thread, Monday 04 May 2009

    Hi all. I'm on, so I'm starting the thread. I need a few days silence for me to work out what is happening with stuff. I saw Ez was really p'd off, so I have answered her. I feel her pain.

    If anyone has sent me PMs I haven't got them because my mail box was full. I know someone has because it wasn't that full last night. I just didn't want anyone to think I was ignoring them.

    Now I must send a similar message to the Army and looks like I will start their thread as well.

    It was so great of Oney to start TND yesterday.

    I'll be back. Hope that is a sigh of relief and not a groan.

    Dave, it's great to see you here. You sound so much better.

    Can't start the Army cause I don't know what day it is there. My mind is spaced out. I've stopped taking the benzos I've been on since last September, cold turkey. Is not doing me good, but I think I'm doing the right thing.

    Did anyone see the Logies? I have watched them every year since I was a toddler. They're just not the same anymore but I was really pleased with the Gold Logie winner. An NZ import.

          Awards for Aussie TV. Like the Academy Awards or something. Neighbours and Home and Away didn't win. H&A usually does. The only Aus made production that actually MAKES money.

            I'm feeling fine at the moment Starts. My irritablity and unreasonability comes and goes. All due to the withdrawal, so if I sounded really strange last night, you are not alone in thinking so. I don't want to subject anyone to me not being me, so I'm laying low.

              We are here to stand by you whatever you are going through...
              i had a look at benzo withdrawal last night, its a VERY tough thing to do...lean on people here, dont hide a way OK?

                  Nah, I'm not hiding. As you can see, I'm here. Hubby has been very supportive actually. It's all very well telling people you have a benzo prob, but understanding that, in my experience from others is not really understanding. I feel a certain need to be upbeat and not a downer on others.

                    Yes, I am doing the wrong thing going cold turkey. I knew that when I did it. But I've tried tapering and it was making me stupid. I think going cold turkey will just finish this nightmare so much faster.

                          I have a responsibility to care for my "kids". The benzos were affecting my memory that I didn't even know if I'd fed them. Of course, I had, but it took a lot of brain power to work that out. That is why I have stopped cold turkey. These benzos are horrible, nice things. But when I figured out it was affecting my memory in such a way I knew I had to take action fast.

                            Oh, yeah! I am known as Dr (surname). I always research. The problem was that I wasn't concentrating enough to get through the research. I have been on every site possible. However, today I found one that was so interesting (thanks to a site you read) that I know I'm doing the best I can for me. Talking to Doctors has not helped. I have been trying to get off these damn things for months. They just want to prescribe more because I don't sleep.

                              You know, it's strange, because when I do have any discussion with docs, they either ask am I a nurse, or praise me for my knowledge and tell me I'm right not to take their advice.
