Please keep us posted on how Beth is doing. I remember her from my early days on here. I remember when her beautiful sweet angel of a niece died. So sad. I hope and pray Beth gets better.

Allie, OMG -- I just talked to her yesterday afternoon, right about this time, and she was feeling better and out shopping. Give her a big hug for me, and keep me posted.

A prayer for Lucy Van Pelt

                Hi guys,
I wanted to give an update on Beth. I wish I had more information, but I was able to locate which hospital she was in and turns out we practically had to pass it on our way home, so I went by to see her. She seemed better than I expected and had her normal upbeat sense of humor.

The doctors still do not know exactly what is wrong with her although they have a few theories. No swine flu though! It could be adhesions as a result of scar tissue from a prior surgery years ago that is causing blockage. they do NOT think it is a tumor but have not ruled that out. She was not going to have surgery today, although that was a serious consideration given the extreme amount of pain she endured during the night. I think they were considering just going in surgically to poke around and see what was going on. As it stands, she is having a full GI series run tomorrow and hopefully this will give some answers.

Naturally, she is very frustrated being in this amount of pain with no answers as to the cause. They had her hooked up to IV's and were giving her some morphine to control the pain. I was not able to stay long as her in-laws were in the room visiting and her daughter had just arrived from college, so I didnt want to cramp her time or space. I got her some magazines and flowers and was able to give her a big hug.

Let's hope it is nothing serious and that she will be back home soon.

Yes, thank goodness for morphine! Her daughter was so funny...she kept saying, "Mom, whenever the nurses ask what your number is on the pain scale, always tell them a 10!
