    Army Thread 4th May

    Good morning folks.
It seems like ages since I have started the thread...

I am not sure if coming off the prozac is affecting me, I have not had a terribly good few days. So I am wondering if it is the prozac or something else...
Hmmm. I think I will put a thread out and see what the masses think...
Sorry, I know this isnt terribly inspirational to start the day off....

    Must try harder

Have a wonderful day everyone, I am just so glad you are here so I dont feel alone when things get a bit tough....

    ah starts
Sorry to hear you are not feeling too good. Replied on your other thread too but maybe its just the normal ups and downs of life. Hope you are feeling better soon. Get out in the fresh air with the dogs and think positive thoughts.. Like you and me crossing that finish line in under an hour and then doubling back to pick up oney and limers from the chipper and putting them on our shoulders and carrying them over the finish line!

        Hey Mario
Well its only a very small tiny weeny teeny marathon - 10ks in Dublin's fair city. I am assuming you will be on the finish line to cheer for us - we will be the ones right behind Sonia Sullivan giving her a run for her money. You will recognise us straight away as we will be the only people with other people on their backs!

            Morning folks.
I was down in the dumps at the weekend. My heart aches. Some things don't seem to get any better over time.
Anyway, I'm sober. I'm proud of that fact at least. It's four months now since I had a drink and I wouldn't take one if you paid me. I was supposed to be seeing my son yesterday but he'd other plans so that was disappointing. Ah well, another time.
I put my happy head on this morning and I'll see what I can do to get a smile back on my face. I'm really looking forward to getting my study pack in from the OU. I've been getting my learning skills up to scratch with some library books and everything seems to be working up there.
A happy and peaceful day to you all....

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well.
I am feeling a little dubious about today too. There is a big bank holiday bash at the restaurant I used to run, and my mum and dad, erin and me and wish are going. I did alot of my serious drinking there, and is where things started going 'seriously' wrong with my life. Now, if I go I know im not going to drink. Have no urges or want to have a drink. But there will be alot of people there drinking heavily, alot of people i will know and alot of memories of my drinking. Im just not sure if I really want to go to be totally honest. Think I would rather stay at home and cook a chicken!! We'll see.

The blues seem to have caught a few of us.
Now, what can we do about that?

                        Hey Cy, Pops,
Cy, can you pull out of tonights 'do' and have one at home instead? Or, if you go tonight, have an enforcable pre-arranged exit plan? Maybe word up some of the family that you may get a little anxious, and you might have to leave early, etc..?

                          Hi guys.
Cy, I know exactly how you feel about meeting up with your old drinking crowd.
BUT, if you have to go...can you just go for a while? Have a plan ready for when you want to leave?
Also, do what Oney did, take note of all those people who simply cannot have a good time without a drink and get that gratitude feeling going that that is no longer you...
                          Good luck my friend...

Yes Good luck Cy. I have learnt the very hard way that if i don't really want to go to a do, I shouldn't go- it's been a big trigger for me in the past, (Yes just one of many!) and if you have doubts about it, why should you do it to please anyone else.

It isn't really selfish- I noticed long ago, other people would say NO if they didn't fancy doing something- I always said Yes just to please the inviter- not considering my own thoughts at all.

                              Hey Cy.
There's nothing wrong with staying home and cooking chicken if going out makes you feel uncomfortable. There's no need to put yourself under any pressures that you don't have to.
