I hope all goes well for you today, GOOD LUCK!. I was sober for 6 years & trained as an addictions counsellor unfortunately i relapsed 4 years ago, but im day8 AF and feeling great again. I wouldnt go back to addiction counselling i found it very hypocritical & judgemental where i worked i believe it was one of the reasons for my relapse, but all the best if its what you want. I find this site & all who post on it a real aid to my sobriety, thanks to you all.

Hey Cym,
Well as you all know, I am NOT perfect and have had a wee ruff patch recently.
Painkillers v Booze v Pain.. all at the same time as trying to juggle work & dramas.. pretend i am not in pain.. bleah!
Hmmm.. eldest daughter turns 16 this month. This involves planning party & costumes etc..
MUST get clear and sober for this.. also.. deadline coming up with major op means MUST be sober so it's not an issue.. etc... many other things happening but won't unload all at once or anything.
Wishing all you guys a great day

Hello Vogue & Gyco,
Vogue, am glad to hear your opinion on the treatment options eh.. no idea what country you are in.
My God I wish I could do something about the system in Australia. It is so pathetically inept.
MWO is a shining light in a very dark place. Love you guys.

Hey Gyc.
Ficks...I think if theres one thing none of us alkies are its perfect! Its the making an effort to do something about it that counts. And those of us here on MWO are doing that, one way or another.
We keep fighting the fight. To Infinity And Beyond!!

LOL me too Gyc
I've been walking the tightrope.. working takes brains.. can't take painkillers.. can't get up or walk to go to work without some... so minimising.. but also.. even my doc admits alcohol is a painkiller.. so notice when I don't drink pain is worse.. so trying to mod drinks, mod PK's and don't get much exercise. SHITTY really. My main thing in life was walking my dogs so yes, have had to just put up&shutup

However I took my naltrexone at the usual time, and was pleased and a bit surprised to see that I had no more urge to drink than on any other day, although the cravings had been a bit high earlier on in the day.
Thank God for the naltrexone, it really has been a life saver for me- I urge anyone who is struggling to give it a go.

Hey Cym! Good to see you too!
... Also, I must be puttin on a good show as the other secretaries are bitching about me being late (10 mins) so I've noticed what a bag of cats they are.
Looking forward to fixing leg so can go for new job!!
Meantime staying very quiet & obedient. Lucky have good neighbours who will watch the kids now it's winter so i don't have to drop them too early in the cold & get to work ontime.
