Maybe its the age. My 20 year old will not think about me unless he gets something out of it. i.e. He'll be happy to go out to dinner as long as he doesn't have to pay. And I will not hold my breath for a card. MY 14 year old son will give me the shirt off his back if he thought it would make me happy. Sometimes he annoys me by asking over and over if I want something. Not sure how I raised two so different, but I do know the older one takes after his Dad.
