The fact of not drinking scares all of us. We are so used to it being to only way to cope with whatever we find stressful. For me it is a basic lack of self esteem. But you know what? Once you give the alcohol away and have a number of alcohol free days, you actually feel so great you wonder why you ever got onto the roller coaster. It's not easy, but believe me, I have been drinking for a lot longer than you and I got 67 days under my belt. 80 days sober until I went on a stupid binge. I am still kicking myself for that and it's hard to get back to AF. I will tho.
The first thing you need to do is make a determined decision to stop. And remember always, the reason you want to stop. Second, get rid of all alcohol in the house. I know if I have alcohol in the house it is too much of a temptation to say I can have one drink. Well, you know the rest.
