Army Thread 15th May
Hi Everyone!
We are having absolutely "the most beautiful" day ever....it is sunny and high about 72F. I want to be outside in the worst way! I think I will take a long lunch and leave early. LOL
Starty,
I have some advice about the low carb diet....it is probably not the best choice for a vegetarian. Hi protiein and low carbs cuts out what you mostly eat. I was on a website yesterday that was talking out successful dieting for celeb and some were vegetarians; I'm going to go back and see which diet they used. On lo carb program you would have to elimin almost all fruit, bread, rice, pasta, potatoes- maybe even beans, so you would become hard pressed to find something to nourish yourself with. It could make for disaster. I think, for sure, there is a better plan for you. I'll be right back.

Hiya Kriggy, dont worry I am not cutting out ALL those things, I am just going to choose lower carb foods and avoid sugar. If I cut out all those I would die :-)
I can have some fruits, brown rice and most veg..its not like the Atkins.
But any info is gratefully recieved, I am new to this and sort of finding my feet.Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008

Starty,
It looks like a calorie diet might be your best bet then you can get all your fruits and vegetables and probably feel less deprived. The KEY is to not allow yourself to be deprived; if you want something really badly just fit it into your caloric allotment for the day. Have cheesecake for dinner if you want, but don't do that everyday. You can stay on a healthy eating, lower calorie program without deprivation. Keep a food diary- I have downloaded a trial of a weight loss program that I am thinking I will buy in 2 weeks when my access expires. It will help you keep track of everything you put in your mouth and every exercise you do. Krigs"People usually fail when they are on the verge of success. Hello Ms.Startsy, This is Evie's Hubby Will. She said that you are starting on a low carb diet and i am just about to do the same. Would you like to share food ideas ?? I am making a grocery list for low carb snacks and so far have celery, cucumbers, olives and hard cheese on it. I am a meat eater and Evie says you're not ?? I think low carb will be hard for you.sigpicEyes on the PRIZE, a SOBER Future !!!

Hi there Will!!!
Lovely to meet you!
Yep I want to give it a go..I am not going as far as atkins, but I will reduce my carbs, so no pasta, bread, or sugar but I will eat oats, most veggies, dairy, tofu, eggs, yogurt, and some fruits. I think it will be OK.
Today I bought cucumber, hummus, peppers, cottage cheese, cabbage, broccoli and blueberries. I dont think I'll starve.
yes, lets share some ideas, I hope that this diet fills me up enough and still allows me to lose weight and also gives me more energy.
I dont want much do I?
