Sharyn, bless your heart! This has got to be horrible for you being torn that way.

I have plenty of rants but must sort them out before going public. Meanwhile ... GRRRRR!!!

Not a major rant, but nevertheless very frustrating!!! Made a major mistake on my sewing and in taking it apart, I ripped a piece of silver lame!!! Now I have to take apart a major piece of the flag!! Since they are made with French seams (each seam is sewed 3 times), this is a major undertaking!!! ($*&#%##%^!!!!!!!

I could spit like a camel!!!

Okay, I'm ready with a mini-rant. I cut my thumb slicing bread today, and then smashed the pointer finger on the same hand in the truck door. All after about 8 beers. Coincidence? I think not.

And I *know* how clumsy I am! What was I thinking???

          Leadership

O.K. - Here's my rant. I wish our country would get back on track! Politics has degenerated to mudslinging
mindlessness - must think the electorate are idiots! Our education system is a national disgrace - many of the buildings are falling apart or are unhealthy and kids come dressed any way they choose. We're stuck in a war that's unwinable while our own borders remain wide open. We have no national energy policy, and on and on and on.
I'm up here in New England, in the corner of the country, but I've been all over - the South, the MidWest,
the Pacific NorthWest, California, New Mexico, Florida, driven cross country etc. etc. Americans everywhere are just so amazing. I don't get why we put up with this? Are we too charmed with all our
middle class "stuff" and numbed out or working too hard to keep going? We need a 60's type movement again but there's no energy for it. Everything seems so difficult and depressing today. Where's some real leadership for this country? Where are we headed?
So that's off my chest. Em

Camper, I really feel for you. I raised a son with a mental disorder that runs in my family.. My hub was worse than no help at the time, though he is very good now. My son is stabilized but will never be normal. I know I drank to bear the pain. Then of course I got addicted. Had to have that wine at night. Trying to break that wire in my brain. Just remember, your daughter's autism is no fault of yours. At least now they realize that. They used to blame the mother. When my son was diagnosed they came right out and said I made him sick. The old Freudian thing. Now they know that genetics plays a big role. Sheesh, did I make all my familly members sick too? It was hell. Hang in there.

To all you young members, the truth is that as you get older, your body can't stand much alchohol. I had four glasses of wine last night and I am nauseous today. I am determined to be AF today.

I completely agree with you. It's just unbelievable! Every time I read the paper or put on the news, I feel like vomiting. Where is the outrage???????????

                Right Here!

Outrage here!!!! Problem is, I'm too busy working to keep a roof over my head and my daughter's head and trying to save for college and retirement, who has time for major involvement in politics???

I feel the old 60's juices flowing hot inside of me sometimes, but I live in a conservative area in a more liberal state, and I often cannot believe the idiocy I hear coming out of the mouths of otherwise educated and nice people!!! And never mind the people who have lived here forever and have been in agriculture!!

I am starting to get more involved on a local level and doing what I can, but I often feel very discouraged. Fortunately, I do have a group of like-minded people as friends, and I'm grateful for that!

                  Efficient Rant

                  Hi all,

I am too busy today to post much. I have been saving up my rants, but here they are:

                  a. dirty grout - how the hell do you get this stuff clean? I have tried bleach, the tilex, and am now thinking
of purchasing the stuff "for professionals only." Wonder if I can buy a gas mask on E-Bay. Oh, wait ....

                  b. I can't find my E-Bay password and anyways, it is registered to another email account, which I won't
                  have soon anyway.

                  c. I forgot to send my blasted rebate reciept for when I bought my phone - not a huge amount - but still,
                  I make myself so mad.

                  d. Why don't they make 80 inch tension rods that are thick enough to hold a curtain? I am going to need to
do more searching and searching - but why so hard to find?

                  e. Some inept, cowardly pinhead dinged my car when they opened their car door - so now I have a dent in
front quarter panel (and a 500 dollar deductible). This is the nicest car I have ever had (and it is a 2003
with 50K miles). How on earth could someone do that and not leave note.

Non-Rant: I am sober today :good:

Have good day all - thanks for letting me rant

My rant is pretty simple....I got an email at work today from the GM who just came back from Denver after a week. Basically it said..."hey the inspector from our insurance company will be here tomorrow...here's what I need you to do" Attached was a laundry list of things.
I thought "Hey no problem...Ill just schedule all these things in between all my other tasks...I could be done by ...NEXT MONTH"
Just that and all the morons who run red lights here

                          Are We still Ranting?

O.K. Here's my latest rants or maybe they're better labelled, frustrations. I'M COMUPTER ILLITERATE AND IT'S DAMN DRUSTRATING. I've written FSophia at least 5 messages, privately and I don't think any went through., likewise cv1. Why can't I get the hang of this! It's tough to be in the mid 50's and have all this computer stuff feel so awkward. I don't have an ATM card and I can barely use my cell phone. I need a personal techie assistant for a week.
But on another rant note.....We need more feminine power in this world. (sorry Mike up north). I'm reading two books simultaeously, Five Chimneys, A Woman Survivor's True Story of Auschwitz and Confessions of an Economic Hit Man and wooo-weee, let me tell you. A little less testosterone running this world might bring on alot more justice. I know that alcohol abuse is no respector of gender but us women tend to take on a lot of blame and it results in depression. Woman power - if only it could dawn again in this world, but I doubt we'll live to see it. Think this has anything to do with the amount we drink or is it hapanstance?

                            This is different

                            Maybe this will help....

I am married to a woman that is the laziest person I have ever known. I finally told her this past Saturday that I am totally burned out. She does not work. I am the sole bread winner. We have been married for 7 years and she has never cleaned the house...so I do that every Saturday morning...(hung over), I take care of all the yard work,(while drunk) Cook every meal (or eat out)(while drunk) I have just finished remodelling almost the entire house, (while drunk) I give the kids a bath and pretty much take care of our 2 and 1/2 year old girl,(usually not drunk) I do all the grocery shopping (open beer in car) (except this past Sunday which I will get to that in a minute), and she demands 6 hours to herself to do as she wants each weekend. WHat in the hell is that woman thinking !! She got pregnant last October and pretty much stopped doing everything. It was bad before her pregnancy and just got intolerable after October. I told her Staurday that I had enough and its her turn to step up a notch and help out. She can start doing something...anything. Her response to me was she went grocery shopping and came home with a shit load of frozen dinners. Our two freezers are stocked full of this crap. She just doesn't get it. I need some real help with things. I get paid on commission only, so if I don't sell we don't eat. It can be extremely stressfull. Don't get me wrong the money is pretty good, but it fluctuates...some months were stepping in high cotton...other months we just get by. We are baptising our 6 week old daughter this weekend. She said she will take car of the food for the recpetion at out house. We its Tuesday and she hasn't done anything yet. She wants a honey-baked ham, but hasn't ordered it. Its Labaor Day weekend for crying out loud.

OK...now that its all out...it seems pretty petty...bottom line I just wish she would start putting out again !! Sorry ladies..I am just a guy

I would tell you what I think about your situation, but you have two small children to think about and I don't want to be responsible for anything. You deserve better treatment and you deserve help and committment in a responsible, adult marriage.

I hope that you can get some family counseling, or she can get some therapy to get her to stand up and help as she is supposed to. You don't deserve to be a doormat and I'm glad that you are here, beginning to treat yourself better and find a better life for yourself and your little ones.

Good luck and best...keep us posted.
