Dahlonegah!!! YES, next town over. My daughter and SIL went to college there (where they met). It's a lovely town. I'm about 40 minutes away. Keep in touch about the date, and I'll come over to see you. It's the site of the first American gold rush!

It's the last weekend in July. I'm excited about it.

Dahlonegah.... our way back and forth from lapidary school at William holland just horth of there. Hubby and I have have been there many a time .can we pan for gold when I get there ???

Yes, Evie, and your only a stone's throw (LOL) from me there!! I own my own panning equipment; people still find big nuggets occasionally.

We love the Area. We go to school in Little Switzerland and another place just outside of Spruce Pine.
Last time we were there panning, Hubby lost his BIG ID bracelet (mega big bucks) I bought him while we were dating and we got a tiny little bit a gold dust in return......but we had fun.............LOL

Sometimes we do the big Wholesale lapidary Gem and Jewelry show up there but I think it's in July when we are in the UK ???

Ooooh, not a good trade!! LOL I lost the huge stone from one of my rings in the river, too, so now there's no more jewelry! It's fun to pan, tho. And to look for amthyst.

I found gold in the gravel in our driveway at the cabin!!! I imagine people COULD make a living panning fulltime.

Hi Ruby We are definitely going to visit you now that we know that you have a cabin in gold town. they told us that the early settlers made their bricks from creek mud that was laced with gold. so start tarring down those old houses. LOL Evie just told me that you live in a very old house. Look in your bricks you might find a big nugget.

And you just tell me when you'll be here! I'm all excited I may meet Greenie in July. My daughter lived in the third floor of the historic Jones Building on the square in Dahlonega when she was in college. I LOVED it! Just popped down the stairs and I was in the middle of all the fun and action, especially during Gold Rush every fall.
