A friend of mine who was given up for adoption as a baby because her mom was only 18 and unmarried, Friend is now 40 and she found her Mom three years ago but her the Mom would not meet with her made a few tentative arrangements then changed her mind. Finally they made arrangements to meet on June 1st, they made this arrangement around 3 months ago it is my friends birthday. Unfortunately her mom died this morning RIP alcoholic liver disease age 58 years. She dident tell the daughter that she was alcoholic or sick according to her partner she tried so hard to get herself sober before they met up but each time she failed. I think it is really sad, I feel so sorry for M she doesnt want to go to the funeral she says that she doesnt want to see her dead.

Irish, thats horrible, im so sorry for your friend, now she will never know but I think she should go, just to see what she looked like even, see what the people in her life were like, get a feeling of who she was. I dunno, its very sad.

A very good point Oney, the nun who was organising things between them contacted her and said that she would make sure that she saw her. I think she is totally shocked and overwhelmed feels that there may be people there that might want to meet her (aunts and uncles) and she says she doesnt want to meet them. The partner of the woman has been really good and rang her a few times begging her to go and meet all the relatives but I think that was too much for her as she never thought beyond the mother maybe a father. Although, I do believe taht she will eventually meet them all whenever but certainly not now. The Mass is in the morning she is going to work! I asked her if I could represent her she just said I would prefer you dident.
