    Bravely Bearing my Blog

    Yes, you bet...

Absolutely, will keep in touch, it's just easier now to post most stuff in one spot and have a little more flexibility in writing style. (Plus try and attract sponsors.) Maybe I'll do a weekly synopsis of what's posted on the blog so folks can decide if they want to go check it out, as much will be in response to what's posted here. Right now I'm putting together a review/list of exercise podcasts and resources --I think this got lost in the shuffle earlier but would love for others to try them out. They're free or cheap and fun.

I read as many posts as I can--some with a heavy heart because I'm struck by the honesty, intelligence and courage of those who share their stories. And grateful, as always, for the support provided by others. Many members have come and gone over the past couple of years, but these common themes remain.

Also appreciate the nutty characters who keep things light and fun. What a great to be.

    RJ

          Thanks you two, and yes...

We're getting bids on updating the header above to include a quick link to the blog so it's easier to visit. Until then, maybe bookmark it at www.mywayout.org/blog .

Still working out some bugs, too. The search engine doesn't work quite right and I'm trying to reconfigure so readers can respond to posts.

Have to admit, the blog is more fun than I'd expected, though I'm probably pushing the limit, at least if I'm to attract advertisers. After today's stuff anyway. Oh well!

          Thanks again. :-)

            Blog

            RJ,

It's a great Blog and a wonderful adjunct to the whole programme. I firmly believe that you will attract strong and solid advertisers.

Our members are a savvy lot who will treat today's stuff as it deserves to be treated. The "stuff" will just blow itself into the ether and the air will be clean again.

Thanks for constantly giving us new tools,

            Tawny

              Dear RJ,

Fantastic blog! I understand the thoughts behind doing one. You are so special to all of us. We can not thank you enough in showing us a way to reinvent ourselves while having support each step of the way!

You have probably checked into sponsors from so many walks of life. The marketing person in me says . . . strategic partnering with AllOne, Hypnotic tapes, the companies who manufacture and sell many of the RX's. I am thinking along the lines of exercise gurus and their books, equipment, etc. Water companies, non alcohol drink companies. Blenders or mix master products. Pill holder products, Weight Watchers and on, and on. You get the picture. . . you hold their target audience in your hands!

A banner from their companies, linking back to their site or a rotating banner and depending on who pays most, it comes up more often. Anytime some one clicks on the page a new at random sponsor comes up in the box. I have done this on magazine sites and even on an opera site to rotate out photos, keeps it interesting and another way to get the revenue to pay for the site.

I wish you the best on this and had to love the Barnes and Noble computer play!

              Hugs and Love,
              Mary

                  Again, many thanks

Really appreciate the positive feedback--and Mary, what great marketing advice! I've only just begun, but you've provided a number of excellent ideas I hadn't considered. (Number one: wanna be marketing manager for my blog?)

I've got a couple of articles in the queue over there, but haven't had time to finish 'em up.

Glad to see things appear to be settling down around here and will hope for more of the same....

Also, a warm welcome to our new members. I'm glad you found us.

                  RJ

                    A Question for RJ

                    RJ,

Fabulous blog and many thanks for this site. Will be checking in often.

One question: When I try to get on chat it asks me for my password even though I am signed onto the site. Problem is I forgot my password. It is stored. How do I find out what it is again?

                    :thanks:

                    Ivy

                      Blog info

                      Hi, and thanks.

I've changed the blog settings so anyone can easily respond to posts. I think! In fact, I'd really appreciated some feedback over there--good, bad or other--before I try and hype it up. Would just like to reflect the fact that we do have an active audience, as that will go a long way in promoting it. :-)

Again, the address is www.mywayout.org/blog/ .

Latest posts: water and workouts. I know, I know, it doesn't sound terribly exciting, but you just might be surprised!

At the very least, you can expect lots of quality up-to-date health news that should be meaningful to our members.

                      Thanks as always, gang.

                      RJ

p.s. I realized earlier I didn't even explain what a blog *was* for the uninitiated. A blog (also web log) is a website in which the site owner posts regular entries in a journal type format. Everything is presented in reverse chronological order. Blogs are typically devoted to a specific theme and many, like mine, are a kind of hybrid diary/companion to other websites. In our case, the MWO Blog is an extension of the message board.

I'm still working on linking it from above, but that's going to take a little time.

Blog is good, great way to journal and let us see you as you are today. I'm hoping to sort of use this forum to do that, but just got started. Also, just wanted to let you know, that for me anyway, I think it would be great for you to jump in on the conversations, especially to us newbies. I've written several messages, asked questions and have gotten only one reply. I'm disapointed about that, but I figure that maybe a lot of people on this program and board know each other and maybe it just takes time. But I feel invisible, and I'm not according to my CP. So, by all means jump in my suggestion for what its worth) especially when you see someone new who hasn't gotten much response from others.
