    A friend is in crisis...

    For all of those who know Rusty576, her son was in a terrible accident this evening. The news is grim.

    Rusty is such a precious person, and getting to know her personally through my own struggles has been such a bright light to say the least, especially when I lost my father recently. I want all to know that I have her permission to post this.

    Her son is Lance, is 24. I do not have details other than the fact that she wanted all of you to know he was not wearing a helmet. Looks like the doctors are preparing her for the worst... little brain activity.

    Rusty wanted me to let you guys know that her message is... WEAR your helmet. That is literal, but is means so much more too. Be vigilient and we all know what that takes for us.

    Rusty, I cannot imagine your pain, but know we are here. So proud of you!

    What horrible news. Rusty, I am so sorry to hear about this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will show your message to my 9 yr old daughter who thinks it's not 'cool' to wear her helmet on her pushbike when going to the park.
