I remember a while back talking with you and Marcie about your mom and her brother in law. They are honorees for this fundraiser, as well as my brother in law's brother who was just diagnosed with Hodgekins Disease a couple months ago.

I made a donation at your website. I was caregiver to my ex husband through a BMT for CML 10 years ago. Leukemia is a horrible disease. What a wonderful way for you to push through your own recovery! You go girl!!

Dear MKR Mary, Cyn, Tawny, Kat, Soccermom Mary, Wellseasoned, and all who have popped over to this thread to give encouragement, support, and especially such a generous donation, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart once again. My family and friends here are in shock over the support I'm getting from this website. I kinda smile, and get all glassy-eyed, and go "yeah.... it's unbelieveable..." (they wouldn't truly understand:h :l )
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society thanks you all as well for your generosity. These are big donations and will work towards finding a cure for these horrible diseases. Wellseasoned, I'm so sorry to hear about your ex husband. It does make it so real and even more worthwhile when the disease hits close to home. Every time I don't want to run, or I want to DRINK but have a run in the morning now, I am reminded how those people didn't have a CHOICE in their illness, and they CAN'T get up and run 8 miles. Maybe not even get out of bed...so I keep myself in line and DO IT. It's pretty cliche, I know, but the race I'm doing is the Nike Women's Marathon (I'm doing a half marathon- 13.1 miles). Nike's slogan, of course, "JUST DO IT" is pretty powerful.

If you put your believe in yourself, anything is possible.

One more thing...We have another wine tasting fundraiser for hubby's rugby team tonight (yeah, yeah). The last one we did, I had just started this program. Hubby was a complete A-hole to me because we were NOT on good terms. I did not drink one drop. I cried for about 2 hours afterwards UNTIL, one of my fellow MWOers called my cell phone to ask how I'd done that night (THANK YOU KIM!!). She calmed me down, made me laugh, and helped empower me to be strong and get through this thing.
Just can't believe how things have changed since then.
There will be no crying tonight! Just a sense of accomplishment and knowing I can handle myself in a situation such as a wine tasting! Kudzu and l-glut in tow, I will be just fine tonight!
Oh, that was also the first time I heard from GINA! She left a message on my cell phone before the tasting, telling me that she's thinking of me and understood how tough an event like that would be, and to hang in there! I keep archiving that message. It's still on my phone! "HI, this is Gina from the MWO board...you had given your number out the other day and I had too...just wanted you to know........")
