Just want some support on day 1...........had gum surgery Fri. and I spiralled down with pain med and al.......off work again, cannot fathom going in, but have to tomorrow, so any support and communication/comfort will be appreciated.

Sorry you are in pain and angst over the AL. Someone else here just had gum surgery -- maybe Startingover? Get lots of good rest today, if you really have to go in to work tomorrow. And have someone bring you some Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Hey Cowgal, anything to do with the mouth is not nice at all.
I have not had surgery but have had a boil and some sort of infection in my mouth. Its painful all right.
Well done on deciding to quit the booze, and going for a day 1. Give yourself a couple of days and you will feel loads better.
CSs idea of ice cream is a good one!!! Plus the old faithful water water and more water.
Stick close, we are all here to give you lots of support OK?

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, 3 days after my college graduation (over 20 years ago -- eek) they were all impacted, I cried in the dentist's chair, and the procedure took at least 2 hours. But my best friend who picked me up brought me B & J's White Russian flavor ice cream (they don't make it anymore -- bummer) and a GQ magazine with Charlie Sheen on the cover!

Oh and btw, I am on day 2. ODAT.

coffee flavored ice cream it is!! Definitely beats beer! Oh, and will drink plent of water, maybe stick close to here for the chat..... Cannot go to "chat" from this phone, feel like I could use a constant contact though, so maybe home one on my of ASAP.....out running errands now though........ My car is fixed, so going to dish out my $500 deductible next......cripes!!!!!!

Well I look like 1/2a chipmunk!!! They only worked on the right side of my lower jaw...it is very swollen, and bruised, but I guess it beats losing my teeth to gum recession? It sucks getting old!!!:upset::upset:

OOOCH! This sounds so painful! It is a rude awakening to wake up and feel this aging process becoming the NORM! Ikes!!
