    Army Thread 13th June

Zenstyle;634605 wrote: I was so on top of this house when I was drinking. I was a total neat freak. I finally worked it out, what's going on there. It was because everything was so out of control with the drinking, having the house totally orderly was one thing I COULD control.

Now, neat and tidy house is a thing of the past.

I DO have the perfect excuse- we have solar power and like me it doesn't 'do' irons...when needs are a must I hang something on the line and hose it down- when it dries the creases are gone!

Well I have an interesting new "toy" that hubby brought home from his shopping venture this morning (that'll teach me to let HIM do the shopping by himself )........LOL
It looks like one of those "Norelco Razors" that Santa Claus rides around on down the snowy slopes on TV at Christmas time, but it says on the box "FABRIC FUZZ BUSTER".Guaranteed to make your clothes last longer??? It really looks interesting and maybe it will work but I think I will try it out on hubbies sweaters before I go FUZZ BUSTING any of my Goddess gowns ??? Many of them have been around the world with me and so even though they are alittle "battle weary, to me, they are replaceable.
Anyone have experience with this kind of a contraption and proper use of it, please advise me ASAP !!!

I'm a real sicko. I love to iron. It reminds me of my childhood and our maid, Charlie Mae, who came each week. She was family to me, and I didn't understand the color boundaries of the time. I even have an antique ironing board and a lot of antique irons. I love the things of the past, because so many of the days were simpler. Plus, in my husbands work with the power company, he must wear all cotton clothes to work, and I won't have him going with something straight out of the dryer. In a silly way its something I can do to appreciate his work that has been SO good to us through our life.

Yeah it does. I am kinda afraid it might rip something ???
I will try it on something I don't care about first. If it works......I'M IN HEAVEN !!!

Sometimes, when I have nothing to do, I take out my antique linens and lace and starch them up, then dampening them and iron them with the hottest iron possible. Sorry, like I said, I'm sick, but it is such a content feeling when they're all beautifully done up.
