UGH - DUI arrest in the paper!!!

Ok, just when I was getting to a better place with my DUI, I came into work and found out that my arrest showed up in the little small town paper where I was arrested 3 weeks ago.

I figured if it hadn't shown up by now it wouldn't, ya know? But I should have known in a town that size it would take a while for someone to trot over and look up the arrest files.

Oh crappers. I have been trying so hard to get over all this and move on, do my stuff with the legal things, haven't had a drop since it happened, yatta yatta.

This feels like just another defeat. I'm trying hard to not let it get me down but it is hard today. :upset:

I feel for you!!!! I would have freaking died.....they post your mug shot in the paper here now...so everyone gets to see your face. Isn't that lovely? Will you lose your job? I am so very sorry for you. Stay strong...drinking will only make it worse. Stay sober, you will get through this.

I am not sure if they post names here; I know they don't do pics. What they now do, however, is make you have a special yellow license plate with red numbers, so everywhere you drive, it's obvious you had a DUI. I don't think they do this for a 1st offense, and it may depend on how much over the limit you BAC was. But it's the Scarlet Letter technique in any case.

Scrub, I'm sure I'm older than you, and I've had TWO of these. I live in a fairly well-known, Atlanta suburb where those who are old time like my fam look at the paper daily to see who got caught. But its more so those who were caught and actually not able to talk there way out, or have someone in a position to get their fine 'lost'. This isn't a joke, or something people just talk about, its a fact, depending on who you know. I was never that devious, or never will to spend that much money. Very sad, honey. My name's been around. Guess what -- I ain't dead yet!!! There are ways to keep on living a good life without relying on the corrupt exceptions of our governments, unfortunately.

Scrubbly, Im sorry to hear about it. Take it as a gift. I took mine as one (i didnt hurt anyone). Get a good lawyer. I somehow got my charges dismissed. Unfortunately or fortunately they seem to be pretty sloppy. Just protect yourself

Sorry to hear about that. Geez it is really tough. I got one a little over a year ago, and it's been a tough time ever since. Cost lot's of money, and had to do a little time for it. No real easy way out. Just remember the plain and simple pain and sorrow, and don't ever let it happen again. You'll get through this, but it takes time, determination, and keeping it all straight down the road. Good Luck!
