    Carolyn..

    Boom Boom...

How I miss Ugly Dave Grey..

    And all the double entendre's....

Yep, you know you've given it a nudge when you still feel shit enough from Wednesday to not want one Friday (It's Friday, after all)

Come join us, it can really help, knowing you aren't the only one (I tend not to tell everyone I know that I have a drinking problem)

You can spill your guts here, no one knows who you are and have felt of do feel like you do right now...

Tawny....I know you live in the bush....

But are you really going to bed at 8:45?

Yup Dave, going to bed now - I get up at 5, bugger knows why, but I do.

But: ... another question for you guitar blokes ... tell me why I really really like suspended 4ths. What is it about suspended 4ths that really really get to me?

Sus 4's are only the beginning, Tawny. Wait until you try a suspended second.......Suspended Fourths are unresolved, non? Is this the attraction Tawny?

OK Mr. G - bit stumped here - can you give me an example of a classic suspended second?

Tawny...ok....picture a classic 'A' chord on the 2nd fret, right?....you have 3 fingers holding down 3 strings, right?

Tawny. You are entering a restricted musical area, reserved only for Guitarista's such as Waves and myself. Are you over 18?

Well, you've probably nodded off, which answers my last question.
Now, the sus 2. (The 'A' suspended 2nd).......As above, and just release your finger closest to the ground, which should mean that your 'B' string is 'open' and not fretted. (i.e. no finger on it from your fretting hand) This should mean that you have fingers on the 4th string, 2nd fret, and the 3rd. string, 2nd fret only. Play the chord, the bottom 5 strings, and listen to the ring of the open, un-fretted (but not lonely) 2nd. string. Nice huh? Fret the 2nd string on the 2nd fret, and you are back to plain old 'A' major. Unfret 2nd string, 2nd fret, and you have 'A' suspended second chord.
                    Now, practise it again!

Tawny likes the ring of the open strings, with a bit of edge from the fretted strings :-)

Maybe I should ask her out?

I still like the full sound of open strings, as I now have a pick up but am ampless :-(
