Hey Bridge,
The doc wasnt overly helpful. She said to keep a mood diary and if its withdrawals it will ease in 2 weeks if its depression then I need to go back on.
It has been suggested to me to take 1 pill to counteract the wd, this should balance me out for a week. I have tried that. I should be happy as a pig in shite by 6pmLiving now and not just existing since 9th July 2008

No mate, sorry..... That's just not correct. Withdrawal has to be EXTREMELY gradual, and you need to be on a withdrawal programme. Some people (as we've discussed) have an easy time of it, but you have no guarantees of that....and better safe than sorry, if you will...Find a new GP or specialist love..........that's shite......If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

I did the tapering exactly as planned. Very gradually, over 6 weeks. Then nothing for 4 weeks, in the last week it has been hell. Doc said my tapering was fine....but will try the single dose and see where that gets me.Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008

Startsy, I have very little experience with depression so my 2 cents are worth just about 2 cents. I did have training in school but have found in practice that which I learned is not true. People are all so different and there is no easy answer to depression. That much I DO KNOW. I was sure hoping your Dr. would have more to say than what was said ???. I also was hoping the yoga would relax the mind as well as the body/soul ??? Meditation and yoga or some kind of chi gong/tai chi is what I would recommend.
I have had good experience in the (bereavement group) I lead with the supplement SAM~E and other peeps say it helps ???
Other than that I would just go ahead and use the meds for now. I didn't want the pain pills but they are a temporary inconvenience that I will soon over come. You are still in early sobriety and doing so wonderfully.Give yourself a break here and if you need the meds, take em (like like I had to)...OK ???..OK !!!!sigpicEyes on the PRIZE, a SOBER Future !!!
