    NEXT DAY THREAD, Tuesday 23rd

    Morning all,

Won't talk about the weather lest I sound like a whingeing old farmer ...

Mr. G - meant to say, I'm really glad you're involved with Men's Health - an area that's sadly largely neglected here.

Have a good day, all to come.

Good morning Tawny, and all to come.
Yep Tawny, a neglected area, and one that needs more blokes, particularly, to talk about, raise issues, and get involved. Stress, pressure, depression, drug and al issues aren't going away, and the recent suicide of a friend, has focused me more on these area's, where men are concerned.
Hope everyone is enjoying their breakfast!
Still a bit clogged up with Bilby flu, but feeling much better today, and am enjoying the day off.

Have a safe, sober, and magical day all!.............

        Hi Allie!!!!!!

Mr G - I've been heavily involved with Vietnam Vets. To get them to discuss and DO something about their health issues is like trying to pull hens' teeth.

Glad it's not turning into Echidna flu. That's a shocker!

Opal, that's great news! I was keeping track of events on the army thread earlier. They're a really good bunch of people over there. Bravo!

Tawny, yep i bet. That is honourable work. All i know is we've got to try, or people, and our community/humanity, is down the gurgler!
Echidna flu is a worry, as it is on the rise in outer Melbourne.

            Good Morning everyone.

Mr G. I have a friend in Cooma who deals with men's health. He has some very sad tales to tell. Bilby 'flu... so that's why bilbys have been on the brink of extinction. I applaud John Walmsley who started a breeding programme for them so many years ago. Pity he got up the noses of Nat Parks execs.

Opal: Is that your solid pink??? From Andamooka?? It's magnificent!!!
            Hi Prest, how's everything?

            Tawny,
just got the Pink tickets about 10 mins ago. The damned online booking system won't let you select where you want to sit.... just gold, platinum or silver. I wanted seats similar to S&G but had to settle for ones higher up and further back... so it'll be a bring your binoculars concert. But what the heck! And I'll have the new camera with me to take some shots.

              Hi Opal,
So wonderful to hear that you are getting your daughter back on Friday.. much to be thankful for I am sure!

I normally do not post on this thread as I am in the "day before" land, but I do enjoy reading it over coffee when the posts are up to about 50 to 100 and am I thinking what all I missed whilst sleeping!

I am off to bed. I have a kitten who was just spayed and has developed an infection, so the vet put a "cone" on her head... she is not happy, so I am hoping for bit of sleep soon!

Night from the other side of the world

                Good morning/afternoon guys.
Mr G, Tawny, I am interested in mens health too, I think men are notoriously bad at asking for help with either physical problems or emotional ones. Its an area I am keen to focus on when I start my volunteering.

Prest, I hope your little kitten gets well soon and allows you some sleep! Its awful when they are not well isnt it?

                Hey Opal and Rags.
Rags I am dead jealous about your Pink tickets, that should be a brill gig.

                  NEXT DAY THREAD, Tuesday 23rd

Afternoon report from the Frog pond. Caught enough water today to fill one of my tanks; the one which will water my ornamental foliage deciduous trees i.e. Chinese pistachios, Forest Pansy etc. Overflow is being reticulated into the dam. One tank full, four to go. Woo-hoo!

                  Opal - fantastic news!

Rags - my last concert was Mark Knopfler at Rod Laver Arena - also a binocular job but with the big screens it doesn't matter so much. The sound was great. So was the boy.

Starts - the BIG problem with a lot of Oz males (esp. ones over a certain age) is that they have no emotional problems. So they say ...

                      Arvo all!
Zen, i'll leave the water tank explanation to Tawny, or someone else, as i don't have one. (yet) We are not getting enough rain here the last few years, so water tanks are becoming increasingly popular/necessary here in Melbourne. You can whack a pipe in them and use for your garden, washing up, etc. Some use gravity as the technique to ditribute water. In Melbourne, our drinking water reservoirs are only 25% full. Pretty scary! So i think most newly built dwellings have water tanks, and recycled water systems as par for the course now......p.s. yep, i know Angus and Malcolm from ACDC are Scottish. And so was their old singer, Bon Scott. Oh, and i once jammed with drummer Phil Rudd in the mid 80's. He was having a break from the band then, but he rolled up in a ferrari, and took us for a spin!

Rag's. A friend saw Pink in Melbourne. Said it was a real show, and she was great.
                      Nice to see you Prest!
A safe and sober evening to all!............

                        Hi there,
Can't help with water tanks, sorry, just chiming in to say hello!
I think I'm too old for rock concerts. Ho hum. Would love to go back to Jazzfest in NOLA though.
Gui - Phil Rudd sounds familiar - whom did he play with?
                        Chau chicos,

                            Whats your incentive?

                            Hi All,
My friend just came back from a Pink concert in Bris and said it was fantastic. I myself am a bit of a 70's tragic - love that era of music!
Day 6 AF and feeling great (except leg still sore from last Wednesdays tumble)

Did some exercise today - slowly does it though.

Also did a crazy thing - Paid to have some professional photos done in a months time - very expensive so my incentive to not waste my money and work on staying sober and looking healthy.Anyone else done wierd things as incentives?
