Hi All,
Bridge, I think that is brilliant that you are going to do all of these DIY projects to remind yourself of your accomplishment! Think I will do the same. Off to the paint store for me! When I think of the hours and hours, days and days, weeks and weeks, etc. of wasted time in alcohol oblivion.....shoot, I could've probably built a house. Let us know the cost savings. I bought a bunch of clothes yesterday with my savings in mind. (Tip: don't know if all of you have resale shops available to you but I have become the "queen of resale". You cannot imagine the great finds that people donate! Unbelievable! And it is so fun too, like a treasure hunt!)

Prancy, is your hubby back? Hope you are doing great.

A great weekend to all. Be thinking of me tonight. My husband and I have been invited to go and play poker with some friends and I am sure that I will be the only one not drinking. I know I can do it and will give you a good report tomorrow.

July 1 group. How is everyone?

Good morning all. Day 14 -- Two weeks today! Of course, the day has just begun but I don't think I will be imbibing. I don't want to start over.

New C, hubby is still on fishing trip. He should be home tomorrow if he didn't get eaten by a bear! My daughter came over last night and we watched a movie on TV. I offered her wine but she said she was fine. My husband and daughter asked me two weeks ago to "get help" with my drinking so I am sure she won't be drinking a lot of wine around me for a while. And actually, that will help. It is harder to do this when everyone around you is tossing them back all the time!

We are going to a Dog Whisperer demonstration this afternoon. Should be interesting. I love his TV show. Any other dog whisperer fans out there?

Sounds like everyone is doing so well. Keep being strong!

Hi all.

This thread is, as usual, very full of inspiration and fun.

I am enjoying our weather today, it cooled down a bit to 73 degrees and drier, which for Alabama at this time of year is a real miracle.

I am still sober and excited to reach the end of this month with all sober days for July.

Thank you for the thread and everyone for sharing. This is fun.

OMG Cindi, that IS A MIRACLE!!! It is so unbelievaby hot and humid here in Houston; I'm jealous. Prancy, that is so great that your daughter did not drink in front of you. Both my husband and daughter drink, and often too much, in front of me. Makes it hard for me but it is a good reminder to me of one of the reasons I am trying to quit...to show her that it can be done. Love to you all.

Ronnie - you've got to be kidding.:H Only $328.27 I reckon Bridge would nearly spend that on 1 bottle..... :H

Barb - My mother in law loves those stores. They live in quite an upmarket area and some of the things she picks up are amazing. Hope your poker night went well. The first time you see friends or family who don't know you've quit drinking is a bit hard isn't it. I just use the losing weight getting fit excuse at the moment. Most people know not to push me about it. I'm sure you passed with flying colors though.

Prancy - 2 weeks!:goodjob: That is fantastic! You have done so well. We are all really proud of you. It good of your daughter not to drink around you. Keep up the great work prancy.

Cinders - Yes it will be 1 month before we know it. Seems to get easier every day. I must admit I feel a little bit left out when everyone else is drinking. Not that I actually miss the booze if that makes sense. Mind you, I've always been a bit different from the rest. :H

Bridge - Gonna tell us?????? Good luck with the painting. Not my favorite past time, but the finished product is well worth it. You are sounding fantastic.

Becky - Hope you are on top of the world.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'm off to mates birthday party. Could easily give this one a miss but I'd be in the crap with my brother in law. I'll be the only one not drinking today. (not sure if my wife is gonna have a drink or not). Wish me well.

Becky, The Dog Whisperer is Cesar Millan. He has a show on the National
geographic channel where he visits the homes of people with dogs with all sorts of issues. He is something of a miracle worker where dogs are concerned although he says his main work is with the owners!! he has a few books out which you can google. It is a great show but I don't know if you get it in Britain. Of course, you could take a look at this books. I also remember that wonderful British lady who had a show where she had all these dogs she trained. She always started out by saying "walkie!" in this lovely British accent. Do you remember her. Oh I recall now. Her name was Barbara Wodehouse.

Becky, The dog whisperer, I know used to be on telly in the UK, but I dont know about now, he is very good with dogs, I think his show used to be on in the evenings, but you are going back over two years now.

21 Days To Break A Habit? Have I Broken Mine?

Hi gang.

21 days for many of us today. Do you feel like you've broken your habit?

A new friend of mine said I should write a post about it on my blog so I did.

Do I feel like I've broken my habit? YES!

I just read your blog and LOVED it! I am so proud of you and happy for you! I loved what you said about not having to hit rock bottom but listing the reasons that you decided to quit.....so like my reasons, I couldn't believe it. I could have written what you did. You are going to inspire so many, I just know it. I am very thankful to you for having started this thread. I am quite sure that I would not be where I am without it. I am also thankful for the time that each of you reading take to post here. Having you out there gives me such strength. Have tried quitting before and have never found it as "easy?" as now, having you there for me. Thanksgiving for you all.
