    From UKSean...

    Hello all,
Thanks for your patience, but now I can give you a definative update.
I have been able to move on from the homeless shelter after 2 long and trying months.
I have to say if not for that shelter life would have been unbearable.
With the help of local church groups I have been able find residency in a men's hostel on the south coast not far from Brighton.
I have my own room with an actual bed (not a 3" piece of foam on the church hall floor.)
    The staff here are wonderful.
They are helping me not only with my sobriety, but are also addressing my health issues.
Speaking of health, for the first time in my life I am struggling with high blood pressure and unexplained dizzy spells.
I saw the nurse Friday and will see the Doctor on Thursday of this week.
I will not be able to return to work until this all clears up.
On the whole things are 100% better and the future is looking very bright.
I will keep you all updated every chance I get.
    Lots of love
    Sean x
It's nice to be important, however it's more important to be nice

              Hi Sean

Good to hear from you. Sounds like life is slowly improving, you must really appreciate the privacy of your own room after so long on the church hall floor. Hope the doc can sort out your blood pressure...not surprising it is up, you have been under a lot of stress since you moved back to UK! Hopefully now you are in a hostel and with the right meds it will settle down.

              Keep smiling! :l
If alcohol made you happy I should be the happiest person alive! I'm not.

                          Dizziness/Vertigo -- important

Sean, I am skipping much of the thread for now (not that I don't care) but I want to
hear from you more about the dizzy spells. I have had serious vertigo problems in the not too recent past. Maybe I can help. Please PM me. I have been there.

In the short term, please be sure to drink LOTS of water. I know we all say drink water when detoxing, etc. but dizziness/vertigo is very much linked to hydration. It's about fluid in your body, and then the inner ear. If you're drinking, it makes it worse, cause you're dehydrated the next day (not saying you are drinking, just saying I know cause I've been there). Also bad in hot weather.

Hope to hear from you. Aside this, sounds like things are going OK. I had to take my brother from my house to a homeless shelter, and that hurt. But he is doing much better.

                          Best to you,
                          xoxo
