              I have been meaning to tell you that the plants I brought home from your garden are doing REALLY WELL!!! I am, just now, starting to get little pink blossoms on one of them. I think they were in a bit of shock for a month or so.....

                        CA has no State budget and is paying bills with IOU's- and giving tax refunds in IOU's. The credit rating of the State, with the 4th largest economy in the world, is the worst of all states- junk bond status. State workers are mandated to take 3 Fridays off per mo, called Furlough Friday, with no pay, and a 4th Friday is expected to be mandated soon. Small businesses that sell to the State are not being paid and will be forced to close if this lasts very long. Maybe we will get a budget this week because beginning next week, the legislature will be on summer reccess (WTF?) and have to be on call constantly to be @ the Capitol for voting. CA is a wonderful state but the legal eagles have grossly mismanaged it for decades. Our roads are a wreck. The budget crisis is bleeding into local government also. Law enforcement is being laid off, retirees not being replaced, fire houses closing. And yet State workers get a friggin' pension for the REST OF THEIR LIVES! That is insane! Why do government workers continue to draw income AFTER retirement? THAT is why our State is in shambles.

                                Hey, Guys!!!!! I love this thread!!!! Of course, I love all the threads, and learning about all the rest of the world, and I know everyone is welcome here all the time, but at least I'll probably understand most of the language on this thread!!! LOL SO lovely to see you, LTG. You know how I feel about you. And I even saw WIP had been around. I SO miss some of our positive, intelligent, loving posts from members we haven't seen in a while. Let's try to keep out negativity and make this productive. What's the point in anything else?
