THE NEXT DAY THREAD Wednesday 15th July

Quick 5pm check-in from me. I've been reading other threads and it seems there is a whole bunch of you getting some serious AF time together. That makes me very happy.

As did this pic in the Herald Sun this morning. Two unrelated, orphan wallabies. Best mates.

      Too lovely for words.

THE NEXT DAY THREAD Wednesday 15th July

Wavey - posh dinner was disappointing. Snails were horribly rubbery, steak tartare was ok but the put-off was the surley waitress felt she had to warn me that "tartare is uncooked meat". Well, I'll be buggered. Thank you Sherlock. ALL of the staff seemed to have attended the Surly Hospitality Diploma Course. I tipped accordingly. As planned, I had a glass of Guigal Coites du Rhone Blanc (very ordinary) with the snails and a brilliant glass of Pennys Hill, 2007 McLaren Vale Shiraz with the main. So - 2 glasses of wine, back to hotel where the fully stocked fridge remained fully stocked apart from a small bar of Cadbury's choccy and a bag of Sour Cream and Chilli chips.

It was nice sitting on my balcony overlooking the Yarra at night and no - no bloke - I don't actually want that sort of complication in my life right now. (don't tell Bridget) LMAO.

Bridge - can I be an auntie?

I'm great at teaching kids lyrics. Skyhooks "I never ever sat on cheese" and Barnsey "Cheap wine and a free gay goat" and Dire Straits "Money for nothing and the chips are free" are firm favourites.
