You can do it, Sosad. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other, one minute, one hour, and one day at a time. At some point, you will look back and realize how far you have come.

      Sending good vibes!

Day one of My Sobriety Begins TOMORROW

Woke up this morning and started drinking heavily.....

Water, lots and lots of water...
I've been walking, a long and crooked path. Come my restoration, wash my body clean...

Hey, I was just about to ask how you're doing ... Glad you checked in. Yes, drink up -- Water, that is!

How do you feel? Have you taken the meds?

I liked what you said about your doggie ... What a wonderful reason to be sober and get outdoors! In fact, I found walking while going through withdrawals helped a lot, plus it was a distraction.

              SoSad,

We are all rooting for you!

Be very gentle to yourself for the next few days and call a doctor or get to the ER if you have serious withdrawal symptoms, okay? There are meds that can keep you safe.

Otherwise, just weather it out and pretend you have the flu. This too, shall pass and you will be so amazed at how much better you feel without the poison in your system.

              Keep us posted.

Annie, I know how you feel. I'm having terrible withdrawal symptoms right now; I'm shaking so bad that it is hard to type this message. And I even have some medication to help with the withdrawal. Not feeling too well right now, but I suppose that is to be expected.

Can't complain, I did this to myself...

Thanks startingover. It would help if I also didn't have three broken ribs and no painkillers to dull the pain. Another one of my drunken stumbles about 10 days ago that has cost me another aspect of my health..

                                Thank you friend.
