    Have a Havanese Dog?

Well said, Sheri and Hulagirl. Thank you.

I'm a whippet lover. Got mine from a shelter. I say go to a shelter and let the dog find YOU.

        LOL Mario!!
I love Tawny's idea of letting the dog choose you Sun.
We are still desperately looking for a bull dog for the daughter but geez they are expensive.

          Mario,
If you think your tatoo is a pet, then I suppose it's a pet. Does it have a name? A litter box? I hope you keep it well-fed!

          Tawney and Deebs,
We really are considering all options. Today we have both gone online to find out more about the greyhounds Betty mentioned. I heard someone on a talk show describe them as sweet couch potatoes, sounds good to me. We both also go online to see what's available at the local shelters, and none of them has called out to us yet, but they could. The fall will be a more likely time to get a dog, when schedules settle down. We will probably visit shelters then. Our first dog was a pound dog, he chose us by licking our hands when we visited the pound. Thank you for all these thoughts.

HulaGirl, thank you for so nicely describing why we share post of all kinds. Sometimes I think of MYO as our substitute for sitting around a bar, and all the conversations that emerge in that scenario. Since we aren't doing that bar thing any more (or much), we need to converse here!
