Going to Rehab
I got drunk again yesterday/last night. My father and husband had a heart to heart talk with me today. It's been an emotional day. Not only am I emotional, I'm hungover and hungry. I'm very weak in spirit. Anyway, I made the decision to go to rehab for 30 days. I know I need help, but don't like the idea of leaving my husband, dog, and job for so long.September 23, 2011Tags: None

Going to Rehab
Reenie ... ((hugs)) ... Think of this is a new beginning ... for you .. for your marriage .. for your relationship with your dad ... etc. This is an important day. A good day. They obviously care about you very much. And I know you care for them just as much. Give them this .. it will be a wonderful thing.
You will look back on this emotional time some day and be so thankful for it. Don't worry about leaving ... think of it as a holiday (OK, I know that's a stretch) ... and trust that things will be OK while you're gone. Think of the reunion when you return, new and fresh and with a future full of hope and possibilities.
You are going to do well. Please keep checking in and letting us know your plans and how things go.AF for two years. Slight relapse. Working on it at the moment.

Going to Rehab
Good morning Reenie,
Not wanting to leave for a length of time for an unknown is very understandable, but it is no more than not wanting to move from the comfort zone, which we can either approach with anticipation or apprehension. And our thoughts can conjure up all sorts of imaginary fears, particularly when we are feeling vulnerable.
You have the love and support of your husband and father who want to help you. Are you able to turn around your thoughts of unease at going to rehab to thoughts of anticipation (if not eagerness).
42 kittycat has just about nailed what I want to say.
Be gentle to yourself.

Going to Rehab
Hi Reenie,
You are lucky to be able to go to rehab. You will emerge with 30 AF days under your belt. Now who would turn that down? It will be much easier to do it there than on your own - no insult to those who have successfully done it at home but I'm obviously having a hard time.
Best wishes on the experience, and the aftereffects.Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.
AF since May 6, 2010
