Depends what your project is like matey....but I saw this great idea once to smash up coloured glass and op shop plates (or whatever you can source) and do a more rustic sort of 'crazy' mosaic.
It was prolly Tara Dennis. (Take two elastic bands and some gaffa tape and ...voila a lamp shade )

Hey Mr G, you can get broken/end of lot/odd tiles for free from any tile shop
