Cutting people loose, what is your experience with this?
Changed, it seems the second person you describe easily fits in the "with friends like that I don't need enemies" category. Why on earth would anyone think they needed to tell your neighbors? I think alcohol sometimes muddles our brain and our self esteem drops to a point where we too easily let these things slide. I say good for you for realizing you deserve better! Stick with your one friend and soon you with others like that.
