    This might be a weird question .. but ...

    .... what do your eyes look like?

    I have some yellowing just in the corners of my eyes ... not a lot. Does anyone have this from time to time? Is it normal? I've googled and found everything from "It happens. It's normal" .. to .. "Yellowing should be checked out". It comes and goes. Sometimes it just looks bloodshot .. sometimes more yellow.

    I haven't been AF, but haven't been drinking anywhere near what I used to drink (I stopped the all-day drinking in early June). .... I've had some good AF days ... but have had a few beers here and there (I used to drink a quart of hard liquor a day) and have messed up a couple of times, but got back on track quickly.

    I'm paranoid this week ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRpAANsoG8I[/video]]YouTube - Kinks - Destroyer 1981 ... Obsessing on health, etc. Arrrrrrgh.

    Anyone else ever get yellowing?

    P.s... I have to log off for the evening ... but any responses are much appreciated. See you in the a.m.

    Go to the eye doc and get it checked out. I just came from there and got very advanced testing with retinal imaging and all kinds of other things. It will either put your mind @ ease (most likely) or you will know if something more serious is going on. You win with the info either way.

    Good luck!

      42Cat,

      I would have it checked out. If there is something to worry about, you need to know, and if there is nothing to worry about, it will ease your mind.

      Either way, you should know.

        Cat, I did a web search, and here is what I found for you.

        ==========================
        Is it normal for a cat's eyes to be yellow?

        - Yes it is normal and in some cats it can look quit beautiful. but in others it may look a little scary.

        -Like humans cats can have different colors of eyes. Yellow is one of those colors.
        My cats are gray, tortoiseshell, black and orange and only the orange one doesn't have yellow eyes. His are kinda greenish.

        -ya its normal

        -Yellow is a common color for cat eyes. In fact, we named a cat Peridot because of that.

        - Yes it is. Today I took a walk and i saw a cat w/collar and her eyes were yellow in fact her name was topaz. She was acting just normal just like my cats do

        =============================

        So you see, you are not alone and it's quite normal. There were those out there who tried to say that it meant you are not a pure Himalayan, but I said, "Bosh!" to that and didn't bother copying their comments.

        'Just having a little fun with you, but seriously, i can understand your concern, and I was worried about exactly the same thing. My eyes are clearing as the AF days go by, though. I didn't start to really notice the improvement until the end of the third month.

          Hi Cat. Yip, definately get yourself checked out. I'm not a doc, but i know, that unless we are totally af, even if we have cut down, our body may still not recover properly.
          Best wishes...........

                    (((Cat)))

                    First, don't get too upset, ok? It could be any number of reasons but until you go to the Dr, it's really hard to know for sure what is going on. If I were you, I'd make sure that you get your enzymes tested. I was told 15 years ago that my liver enzymes were way too high for someone my age, yet they have been fine after that and this despite continued years of drinking (not ok for me, I know). I share this as it shows how remarkable our liver is, if in your case it would happen to be liver related. I did buy some milk thistle other day and if you don't have any, maybe a good idea. Take care...

                      Thanks for the replies, you guys! I never thought of the eye doctor ... I had my eyes thoroughly checked just a few weeks back. I would imagine the eye doctor would have said something if they appeared abnormal.

                      I do have a dr. appointment for the 25th of this month, so I'll be asking her then anyway ... I was just curious what you all thought.

                      Thanks again ... and Happy Friday to everyone!

                            Hi cat,

                            I am currently going through extensive liver testing and part of the reason was due to yellowing of the eyes and skin on the face (jaundice). When the liver doesn't work properly bile builds up and can produce yellowing of the eyes. I would definitly suggest to your doctor that they do some simple blood tests to check out your liver and to make sure it is functioning normally. Not trying to scare you, just the experience I am going through right now.

                            Hope things work out for you!

                              Thanks, Universal. I have my paperwork for blood tests actually .. I just have to get the guts to go get it done. It is my plan to do the next two weeks completely AF and get it done in time for my doctor's appointment on the 25th.

                              Many good, healthy wishes to you. Please let me/us know how things turn out. Glad you're getting looked after.
