I would definitely get my liver checked if I noticed my eyes getting yellow, especially if your drinking is chronic. For me, my eyes are more bloodshot than anything, due to AL. My eyes only return to normal if I haven't been drinking for at least a week or more.

I had been binge drinking for years and had not had a physical in 15 years or so. I was petrified to have my liver checked thinking they would tell me it was cirohosis or something...I was on absolute pins and needles the couple days I waited for the results.
When they came back absolutely normal I was blown away. It was and is a testiment to how resilient our livers really are. Unfortunately, I felt it gave me a "Free Pass" to continue my binging.

Thanks Zeta ... It's great to hear that your liver tests were OK, and it gives me some good hope. I was thinking similar things though - if mine are OK, is it going to give me an opening to start back with the drinks? This "disease" (or whatever it is) really s*cks.AF for two years. Slight relapse. Working on it at the moment.

I proceeded to fall back into my old patterns of overdrinking/binging and I'm trying to pull myself back from the ledge again. I'm on day 6 AF and feeling much, much better. It's not difficult for me to quit drinking for days/weeks in a row...The hard part for me is not falling right back into the same destructive patterns once I start up again.
