    Cash for Clunkers......what's wrong !?!

    I'm thinking that turning in cars that are gas guzzlers for vehicles that use less gas, is a good thing.......BUT...some of these cars,some are in good condition and should not be destroyed !! Their are non-profite Orgs. that could gain from some of these cars for their use. Why destroy the cars with out thinking in ways that they could be used to help non- profit orgs. Just my thoughts......IAD (

      I agree. There are a lot of poor people that could use these vehicles.
      I've been walking, a long and crooked path. Come my restoration, wash my body clean...

          IAD, I hope you get a positive response. This kind of rampant government waste really ticks me off!

            They have that system here now ... I personally think their must be a catch somewhere ... as usual ...

            and now we have adverts for people to put their gold jewellry in a special envelope and send it to a company and they will pay you for it ... at what price ? A vastly reduced cost of the real price no doubt - all due to the recession ... cashing in on people's troubles ....

                The Cash for Clunkers program seems to be like so many "government" programs. It appears like a great idea at first glance but ends up having some unwanted consequences.

                Not only is it wastful, but I have noticed in my area, the price of the used cars left out there, has gone up dramaticly. It seems to me that this is leaving a portion of the population already strapped for money, unable to afford even a used car.

                  i'm keeping my clunker, no one is getting it!
                  it will run on until it can't go anymore.
                  this one i plan to have many more years, next year its 10!
                  i plan on getting a good 20 years out of this baby.
