    Appetite Coming Back Big Time

Now all I want to do is go to whataburger and pig out on a 3/4 pound cheeseburger with all the fixins and an order of onion rings. The appetite returning is a good thing, but I don't want to switch liver disease with heart disease!

You're sounding great Buddy. Good to hear. Your sleep should return soon too. For me, a good sleep was around 7/8 days after stopping, but it varies for everyone. Stay the course, friend. You never want to go through this again. It get's easier, AND better, and better everyday. Go for it, and 'put the nail in the al coffin', so to speak. Bravo!

Evening SS, sounding good today! As expected I felt awful this morning, groggy headache and sick. The thought of canberry wheats cereal made me gag. Feeling OK now though. Sipping some milk thistle tea, but I'm convinced it's making me sneeze!

I hope that you're feeling better soon vlad, and I also hope the sneezing stops! Yes, sleep is slowly returning Guitarista. Every day and every hour is getting better. I NEVER want to go through such withdrawal pains, ever again. I felt so horrible the first two days and part of today, but the return of my appetite is a good thing. I was always told that if you had an appetite for sex and food, you were probably healthy - at least in the short term. I think I will order in pizza for dinner to get rid of these food cravings.

The last time I quite drinking over a decade ago, a nurse told me that it was okay to turn to comfort food for a little while at least. Your body has been starved of nutrition so long that it's only natural. Besides, when I don't drink I tend to be very active exercising and working out around the yard.

Thanks Zen and Startingover. I just ordered a Cheese, Original Marinara, Pepperoni, Green Peppers, Black Olives, and Spinach (copied the text, hence the initial caps) from Dominos. I plan to pig out after eating almost nothing for three days. I'll probably feel like I'm about to bust, but it sure beats the heebie jeebies of withdrawal. Of course I won't eat the whole thing at once... Or will I?

Coming out the other side is a pretty good way of expressing what we've all been through.

I think I'm going to take our dog to the doggie park and let him run and be free for the first time in a little while. He loves it there and gets along with all of the other dogs. He's suffered from the abuse I've been heaping on myself as well by me not letting him be the natural runner that he is.

Thank you KTAB. He is my friend and has stuck with me through all of this. I love him so much and have felt very guilty about not driving five minutes to a wonderful park that he enjoys so much. He's such a friendly, loyal dog and deserves to be treated with love and respect. I've seen the look in his eyes lately and he has been sad that he's not able to visit his friends, both human and dog alike. That made me feel so very bad because I love him.

Off to the doggie park for now folks.:thanks:
